Bottle Auction: 1873 SAC CITY (SACRAMENTO) CA BILLINGS GEYSER BLOB TOP SODA CRUDE WHITTLED COLOR

1873 SAC CITY (SACRAMENTO) CA BILLINGS GEYSER BLOB TOP SODA CRUDE WHITTLED COLOR Bottle Auction Description: You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL CRISP EMBOSSED WAVY-WHITTLED SURFACE AQUA-BLUE COLOR Antique SODA bottle called "GEYSER SODA, E. L. BILLINGS" which is very early "blob top" variety once used in "SAC CITY" (aka Sacramento City, or Sacramento today) California. This is an AMAZING old bottle. Was reluctant to even put on ebay...because often it is hard to tell HOW NICE an old bottle is unless you hold it in your hand, hold it up to the sun, etc....THIS IS A BEAUTY....and hopefully you can tell that from pictures in gallery.Bottle is spectacular color...has applied lip (with drip marks in glass)...covered with wavy "whittle marks"...glass has very uneven waviness to it, lots of bubbles...big seam mark on side (gallery image #8)....and from "Sac City"...which is tough to find. I believe this bottle is very early, likely made in the 1873-1877 era. Name of town "Sac City" was also used very early on.I have inspected this bottle, seems really nice..glass is very nice, embossing is crisp, (see gallery)...Can find no cracks, chips, or damage....THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOTTLE...I just got this one, and it is a real beauty....if you hold to light you see great color of glass and it is very clean. The bottle is what I would call a aqua-bluish color glass, stands about 7 1/4" tall x 2 1/2" wide...and it is a very nice specimen...THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOTTLE... the GLASS IS GREAT. This has great color, crisp embossing, and no damage.....there are some mold marks and lines, but all are "as made"...has lots of character with all the dips, whittle marks and bubblesGallery pictures should show you all you need to know, took pictures from many angles.Nice antique 1873 era AQUA -BLUISH "GEYSER SODA, E. L. BILLINGS" bottle..which just displays beautifully....used in old "SAC CITY" California. All my bottles are carefully packed in bubble wrap and oversized rigid box to make sure they get to you as you see them :)Because of the size and weight of this one, best to ship USPS priority mail rigid box to get this to you safely. Thanks so much for looking....collect and invest in history!!!!! Tangible assets are always the best ones. Here are my policies:1) Per ebay policy.....Paypal is now the preferred method of payment. (U.S. dollars only) Paypal is welcomed, but email me with any questions you might have about this policy. 2) I will combine shipping for multiple purchases to save winning bidder some money.3) Payment is required within 7 days of the close of this auction.4) All International bidders must contact me prior to bidding. I will advise if I can ship to your country, and estimate the costs. (I do not ship to all countries)5) I diligently try to package items properly (redundant inner packaging, etc). I do not seek to profit from shipping, but only to "do things right".... so you are happy with your purchase when it arrives.6) Please email if you have questions!!!

Bottle Auction: Antique Casper's North Carolina Whiskey Pre Pro Cobalt Blue Bottle

Antique Casper's North Carolina Whiskey Pre Pro Cobalt Blue Bottle Bottle Auction Description: This is a spectacular early Casper's Whiskey Bottle in Cobalt Blue. The slug plate legend reads " Casper's Whiskey Made By Honest North Carolina People". The bottle stands 12 inches tall, and is in amazing shape. The applied Lip looks smooth and even on the outside, but feels a bit uneven and crued (But still smooth) on the insid. The only flaw to this bottle that I can point to is on the front near the base there are a few seed bubbles, and one of them has come through to the surface. It just feels a slight bit sharp on the edges of this bubble. It really is minor, and it hardly distracts from this otherwise amazing bottle. The bottle shows no chips, cracks, haze or other issues. I have circled the one problem bubble in the last picture. So be sure to check them out.I ship on Mondays Tuesdays and Fridays, so the sooner you pay, the quicker i will ship. Be sure to see my other sales for more bottles.

Bottle Auction: RARE One of six known, T A Greenleaf cobalt blue citrate San Luis Obispo

RARE One of six known, T A Greenleaf cobalt blue citrate San Luis Obispo Bottle Auction Description: (NOTE: My reserve is likely unrealistic, but if it come close, I might negotiate a buy it now price after auction runs its course. I turned down a pretty good price some years ago, so I am basing my reserve on a perceived adjustment to that amount from back then.) Incredibly hard to get anymore are any bottles from SLO, or San Luis Obispo, California. Main reason is they were closing down the digging in any public areas for artifacts by the late 60's-early 70's, a move ahead of their time by decades. This was my early stomping grounds and the beginning of my digging for old bottles since 1963, and most of what I am currently listing have been in my collection since the mid 60's. Since relocating to the midwest a few years ago, I have decided to part with some of these from the central coast area as it is my belief they have more relevance and historic connection to that area than out here. (Besides, I can always use the $.) From San Luis Obispo,California, is a very rare, example of a cobalt blue citrate of magnesia, embossed, "T. A. Greenleaf/San Luis Obispo" in a circular slug plate and "Palace /Drug Store"on two horizontal lines in the center. Base is marked W.T. Co./2/USA", and stands 7 1/4" tall and 2 1/4 diameter. This is very clean and was found in the crawl space underneath an old house on Chorro St. in San Luis. No dirt or haze, only thing is some metal remnant from the original bail that held the porcelain stopper. This has fused itself to the glass and is impervious to any attempts to remove. There are no dings, cracks or bruises, however, there are 2 small areas where the bail was originally attatched to the neck that are slightly chipped. I have dug 3 broken ones of this bottle and each were whole except where mine is chipped, they were decapitated. When I discovered this one, it had the stopper firmly in place and the rubber gasket was still plyable. When I went to try to remove it, it would stretch a little but not let go. I discovered that whatever remains were in the bottle when thrown away had evaporated, creating an incredibly strong vacuum, to the point I thought I would need to drill a hole through the stopper to get the pressure to release. I finally got it off, and after the struggle determined that is what happened to the others. Likely the pressure eventually became too much and finally broke through the neck, snapping the tops off. This one only had the metal slowly squeezing at that double collar and fuzing itself. I am convinced by now it would have experienced a similar fate as the others I dug. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! WHEW! Thanks for looking and keep an eye out for more listings to be added , with three rare ones from San Luis Obispo, a cobalt blue T.A. Greenleaf Citrate, a "one of two" known Otto Tullman's quart sized beer, and a gravitating stoppered S Cerabelli soda, as well as many more pharmacy bottles. Feel free to ask any questions, and I can combine shipping, within reason for safety sake of the bottles. This alone can ship in a large flat rate box and will add insurance to all sales. This one will ship seperately, no combined shipping for this one. Please wait for invoice for multiple purchases for a combined rate. Thanks again. Paso Robles, Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria On Jan-09-13 at 17:56:02 PST, seller added the following information:Please note my reserve is a grand. I have divulged it to a couple different prospective bidders and had requests to end early and sell for my reserve price, which I turned down. (I know how disappointed I get when that happens to something I really want to bid on at the end.) That said, I felt it only right to reveal my reserve, as this will in all probability sell, one way or another. These really don't come up for sale very often as scarce as they are, so throw your best bid at it, and thanks again for all the interest.

Bottle Auction: GV-5 - PINT - SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD - OPEN PONTIL - HISTORICAL FLASK

GV-5 - PINT - SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD - OPEN PONTIL - HISTORICAL FLASK Bottle Auction Description: GV-5 SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD Up for bid is an open pontil pint Mt. Vernon Success To The Railroad Historical flask. This wonderfully colored flask is embossed on both sides with a horse and cart on tracks, (the early form of the railroad before the use of steam engines), and the slogan "SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD". The United States as a young nation was fast becoming an economic and industrial power house and a means of quick and reliable transportation was needed to unite the country's costal ports with its inland resources. The railroad was the answer and these flasks were made to promote the building of the railroads. This flask is damaged, there is a long crack extending from the front wheel on one side down around the base and up to the "I" in Railroad on the other. This looks to be the result of an annealing check or bubble that cracked and traveled. There are no impact marks associated with it. Otherwise the flask is very nice with some medium to light high point wear. Please see the pictures. 1830's. B.I.M. Sheared lip. Stands 6" 1/2 tall. Please ask questions before you bid!Thank you for visiting, please check out my other auctions, good luck!Shipping policyAll items are shipped promptly after payment is received through USPS priority mail. Bottle Auction: Sparkling Mint H.H. WARNER'S TIPPECANOE, Figural Medicine or Bitters, Deep Amber

Sparkling Mint H.H. WARNER'S TIPPECANOE, Figural Medicine or Bitters, Deep Amber Bottle Auction Description: We hope you'll like this wonderful example of this popular bitters or medicine. Labeled examples have been found with labels for either category, so it's an appropriate bottle for both. The bottle is 9 1/4" tall, with an applied and tooled top and smooth base. The color is a fairly deep amber. If you wanted to do a color run, this is deeper than average and yet there are still darker ones out there. The embossing resembles course bark of a log, plus a full-length canoe. Both ends of the canoe are decorated and on some bottle this is not evident, though it's sharp and clear on this one. The large lettering includes H.H. WARNER - TIPPECANOE. The base is embossed ROCHESTER / 4 / N.Y. Sometimes you see these listed as rare - They are not. But this bottle is a bit scarcer color and the detailed embossing is exceptional and the condition is superb-mint!
