Formally speaking, the Heaths began their wonderful "bottle and glass hunt" in 1966 when they answered an invitation to what would unexpectedly turn out to be the charter meeting of the New England Bottle Club! The very next weekend, Bob would dig the "charter" bottle (a deep green pepper sauce) of their collection at his parents farm in Union! During the following nearly 30 years, there would be many "treasures" found, as the Heaths built their well known collection through local and distant auctions, bottle and antique shows as well as buying directly from local pickers and antique dealers. As one long time Maine picker told us recently........"you never had to worry about a fair deal with the Heaths.....when Bob made an offer it was the right one"!The Heaths "journey" was as much about people as it was about glass! Muriel (now in her 95th year), relates so poignantly "the real treasures were the friends we made along the way"! In the winter of 2013, we were asked to sell the Heaths fine fruit jar collection at Ebay. Bottle Auction: Rare Syphilis Remedy Bottle, with Label, Dr. Shoop's Sarsaparilla

Rare Syphilis Remedy Bottle, with Label, Dr. Shoop's Sarsaparilla Bottle Auction Description: Very scarce and colorful early quack medicine bottle for Dr. Shoop's Sarsaparilla Compound with Iron prepared by Dr. C.I. Shoop Racine, Wisconsin. BIM bottle (circa 1890) is 7" tall and boldly embossed "Dr. Shoop's Family Medicines" on one side panel and "Racine, Wisconsin" on the other. The back panel is indented and has complete original label in German. The bottle is a bit dusty and dirty from being in storage but will clean up nicely if so desired. The original cork is in place and the bottle contains virtually all of the original contents (not to be taken). The front panel has the original color label with inset portrait of Dr. Shoop and claims that this medicine is "for Scrofula, Syphilis, Eruptive Skin Diseases such as Boils, Pimples, Pustules, or Blotches of any Character, Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Ringworm, Rheumatism, or any discharging diseases." The label is about 95% complete with small portions missing along the right edge and lower right corner. The label has minor areas of darkening but overall is in good condition. Dr. Shoop produced a wide range of quack medicines in the late 1800's into the first third of the twentieth century from his laboratory in Racine, Wisconsin. This Sarsaparilla Compound with claims of treating Syphilis is the most difficult one to find. Great early quack cure bottle offered with no reserve. Bottle Auction: Nice Arizona Hutch Soda Bottle - Arizona Bottling Works, Phoenix, Arizona

Nice Arizona Hutch Soda Bottle - Arizona Bottling Works, Phoenix, Arizona Bottle Auction Description: Super clean Arizona Bottling Works, Phoenix Arizona hutch soda bottle. This is a 4 piece mold applied top hutch soda dating from 1907-1909. Embossing is in a slugplate. There is also some small embossing around the base that reads THIS BOTTLE MUST BE RETURNED. There is a super shallow flake off the back side of the top, about an 1/8" circular. You have to hold the bottle just right in the light to see it. Please review the photos. It is minor distraction for an otherwise super clean example. Any Arizona hutch is tough to get your hands on, don't let this one pass you by. Good Luck! I am happy to answer any questions. Bottle Auction: Super rare Territory Arizona colored hutch - Phoenix Bottling Works, Phoenix AT

Super rare Territory Arizona colored hutch - Phoenix Bottling Works, Phoenix AT Bottle Auction Description: I'm pretty sure no example of this bottle has come up on Ebay in several years. This is a rare opportunity to obtain an early Territory relic of Arizona history. This is the earliest example of the Phoenix Bottling Works, Phoenix A.T. soda bottles. This is the only colored hutch from Arizona that is not a maverick. These bottles come in aqua and green, and this is a great example in green. I placed it next to a typical aqua Arizona hutch and you can clearly see the difference. The condition is really quite nice. The bottle is quite crude with lots of whittle and some overall haze. I'm sure it could be tumbled perfect, but I'll let somebody else take that on. All of the known examples of this bottle have pretty crude applied tops and this one is the same. On close examination it appears there is a vertical compression flash on the right side of the lip and a shallow divot you can feel with your finger. the overall crudity of the lip makes this hard to detect and/or see. I've taken several photos so you can see it clearly. Any Arizona hutch is tough to get your hands on, don't let this one pass you by. A great opportunity to own a super rare Arizona Territory bottle. Good Luck! I am happy to answer any questions. Please look for my other auctions, I am listing several Arizona and Nevada collectible bottles and decanters. I will also be listing some nice western antique jars. Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.

I know very little about antique bottles but when I saw the 5 Hand Blown Bottles in this auction I knew they were 19th century. The first bottle is hand blown from olive green glass, with a unusual drawn neck. It measures 11 ¾” tall by 3 ¼” in diameter and has an applied glass lip. I thought that this bottle was perfect but there is a tiny fleck to the top edge. The next hand blown bottle in this auction is a wine bottle. I can feel part of the open pontil inside the pushed up 3 ¾” bottom. This 11 ¾” tall perfect condition bottle also has an applied glass rim to the drawn neck. Up next are two hand blown flat sided bottles with applied glass fingerings. The glass is a deep reddish brown color and the drawn top has an applied glass lip. Each bottle measures approximately 3 ¼” by 5 ½” by 7 ¼” tall and is in perfect original condition. The 5th and last hand blown glass bottle is a dark amber brown color. This heavy bottle measures 4”in diameter by 8 ½” to the top of the applied lip. The condition of this 19th century hand blown bottle is perfect. ...... Bottle Auction: Antique EAPG Apothecary Show Candy Jar Drugstore Display Swirl Ground Stopper

Antique EAPG Apothecary Show Candy Jar Drugstore Display Swirl Ground Stopper Bottle Auction Description: Antique Eapg Swirl ApothecarySample or Show JarDrugstore Candy Jar We are very pleased to offer for auction a very nice and clean antique apothecary display / show jar with original ground stopper. The jar is pre-1920 and the body is a two part mold with an applied base made in a 3 part mold, as to be expected from an early jar of this type. The top swirl stopper is finely ground as is the neck of the jar making a tight sound original fit with excellent alignment. Jars that were ground were more expensive to purchase in their time period and are considered more valuable to collectors today. The pressed glass detail is nice, deep and sharp and both stopper and bottle glow under black light. This 13 1/2" jar (with stopper) was most likely used for display or filled with color water as a show jar in a apothecary / drugstore. This particular jar still had candy residue inside that washed easily out but is pretty indicative of its possible use. Great clean, authentic piece! Bottle Auction: Open Pontil Buckhout's Dutch Liniment Saratoga County Aqua Medicine Bottle

Open Pontil Buckhout's Dutch Liniment Saratoga County Aqua Medicine Bottle Bottle Auction Description: Up for auction is a classic picture pontiled medicine. The bottle is STRONGLY embossed on the front "E.A. BUCKHOUT'S DUTCH LINIMENT" (backwards Ns) with a picture of a Dutchman with a hat and smoking a pipe, and on the back "PREPARED AT // MECHANICVILLE // SARATOGA COUNTY N.Y. Color is aquamarine, just under 5 inches in height, with an inward rolled lip and open pontiled base. Nice wavy character to the glass. The strong embossing is unusual for this mold, which from my experience is often very weak. The embossed Dutchman has strong detail, including pipe, walking stick, details of the coat, and socks and shoes. A really beautiful bottle in overall excellent condition The only condition issues are very minor. First, there is what looks lik a pontil chip that looks to have been slightly polished, but it may be natural, I am not expert enough to say for sure. Also, there is a tiny flake on one of the embossed "O's" on the back (evidence of how strong the embossing is. I didn't notice this in the ten years I have owned the bottle, not until I photographed it with the light catching it at just the right angle. There is also some very, very faint haze in a few spots of the interior, which is only visible when held up to the light, and which would probably wash out (it is not stain). These issues are very minor, but want to be thorough in the description. Overall a beautiful example with crude wavy glass that really sparkles. I have tried to catch all of this in the pictures provided.A true auction starting at 99 cents, the way I think ebay should be. Shipping is free. I have described the bottle as best I can, including the many pictures, but will offer returns if you really feel it is not as described. I am sure the winner will be very pleased with the bottle. Good luck.On Dec-27-13 at 15:57:46 PST, seller added the following information:One thing I forgot to mention: the bottle has NO highpoint wear at all, nor does it have any scratches. Beautiful original surface luster.

Bottle Auction: F CLEASON SARSAPARILLA & LEMON MINERAL WATER ROCHESTER NY BLOB TOP SODA - PONTIL

F CLEASON SARSAPARILLA & LEMON MINERAL WATER ROCHESTER NY BLOB TOP SODA - PONTIL Bottle Auction Description: SARSAPARILLA & LEMON Up for bid is a rare sided soda from Rochester New York. With a nice metallic pontil mark and applied tapered lip this 10 sided soda is sure to please. Embossed on 5 flat panels around the body of the soda "F. CLEASON - SARSAPARILLA - & LEMON - MINERAL WATER - ROCHESTER". What a great name! This bottle was possibly professionally cleaned, its very hard to tell.
