Bottle Auction: Lynde & Putnam Mineral Water San Francisco Cal. A Union Glass Works Philad. a

Lynde & Putnam Mineral Water San Francisco Cal. A Union Glass Works Philad. a Bottle Auction Description: Here's a scarce cobalt blue example of this popular western mineral water. This is the example without the slugplate on reverse. Made for only two years from 1850-51, these are seen more often in shades of teal. The beautiful blue color is fresh to the market and has been in a box for the last number of decades. Condition is superb with just some very minor scratching and a touch of wear. Never cleaned, this came out of an old collection in the San Francisco Bay area. While we've seen a number of examples of this bottle throughout the years, we have handled only one with a true open pontil. This example, as seen in the base picture, has a piece of glass stuck to the base and although we are definitely not saying it has an open pontil, we can say it is a graphite pontil with a shard off glass done in manufacture. It is, for color and condition, one of the best examples we've seen.

Bottle Auction: SCHOOL HOUSE INK BOTTLE WITH EMBOSSED WINDOWS AND DOOR 1890'S (NO RESERVE)

SCHOOL HOUSE INK BOTTLE WITH EMBOSSED WINDOWS AND DOOR 1890'S (NO RESERVE) Bottle Auction Description: You are bidding on an 1890's SchoolHouse Ink that was recovered from a local land fill back in the 80's, Thebottle stands about 3.5", clear in color, and has embossed door andwindows on front side, and embossed windows on two additional sides, the backof the bottle is blank and most likely were the label was located at one time, there is a very light amount of haze inside which can be removed by aprofessional cleaning if desired, it never really was an issue to me so I leftit alone. The outside is near perfect with no chips or stain, but the lip hasan imperfection from the manufacturing that I am mentioning just for accuracy,it is not a chip, but a roughness inside the lip and some stretch marks thatalmost look like a small crack, please see the photos and my feedback, Yoursatisfaction is my main concern so please bid with confidence. For additional questions or pictures please email me. Thank you !

Bottle Auction: BEAUTIFUL 1820's Dark Olive Green Success To The Railroad & Eagle Horse Wagon

BEAUTIFUL 1820's Dark Olive Green Success To The Railroad & Eagle Horse Wagon Bottle Auction Description: I DO NOT SELL TO CHINA.THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE FLASK ONLY. THE LAST PHOTO SHOWS TWO FLASKS IN SUNLIGHT. THIS IS FOR COLOR COMPARISON ONLY. THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE HORSE, WAGON AND EAGLE FLASK. Absolutely attic / estate fresh. piece looks to have been on a shelf for the last 180 years. As far as I have been able to determine, this is a SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD with Eagle historical flask. One side has horse, wagon and track. The other has an eagle. CIRCA 1820-1830. You collectors will know for sure.I was unable to find one that had sold previously with no lettering and no stars above the eagle. Again, you guys will know the variation, I certainly don't.Color is very dark olive green but when held to bright light one can see tints of amber as well. I have another flask currently listed that is olive green as well but a few shades lighter in color. Please see last photo. There is very light surface wear to the more pronounced areas of both sides. Nothing terrible in my opinion, but just a very slight haze here and there. When held to bright light there appears to be some light interior staining / haziness. There is a VERY tiny spot along one of the sides that appears to be a ding, but may not be. See next to last photo at top center. There appears to be a small piece of white silica there but it also appears to me to be a very tiny ding. It cannot be felt, just seen. There is also a small rough area at the tip of the bottom outer edge. Using a loupe, it appears to be a small manufacturing flaw but purchase it as if it were a tiny ding and you can't be disappointed.FLASK MEASURES 6 5/8" TALL. 4 1/8" WIDE AT THE SHOULDER AND 2 1/4" THICK AT THE LARGEST AREA.Sides havea single raised rib.Rough pontil scar.Bottle is a little uneven when sitting.Nice mold definition on both sides. There are no other chips, cracks, breaks or repairs of any kind. The underside of the base shows wear from sliding around. Please see my other auctions for two more flasks / bottles from the same estate.Absolutely guaranteed old and authentic. Please ask any questions that you like.U.S. Shipping is $10.00.International shipping will be $30.00 registered mail ONLY. Sorry, I no longer ship to China, WAYYY TOO much trouble...

Bottle Auction: Dutch Onion Bottle, Horse Hoof Shape, Circa 1710-1720, Crude Lip, Tubular Pontil

Dutch Onion Bottle, Horse Hoof Shape, Circa 1710-1720, Crude Lip, Tubular Pontil Bottle Auction Description: Here is an extra nice example of a bottle that is approximately 300 years old. It is a Dutch onion bottle, this particular shape known as a "horse hoof." The color is a medium yellow olive, lighter than is typically seen in this bottle. This enables you to easily see the high kickup when displayed. It has a crude "laid on ring" and uneven top and an extremely crude and a sharp pontil scar. Please note that the photos tend to show more orange tones and less olive tones than are actually seen in the bottle. The condition is as good as you could hope to find on a bottle of this age, with great glass clarity and no damage whatsoever.

Bottle Auction: Antique Cobalt Blue California Gold Rush Soda Bottle~ BOLEY & CO. SAC CITY, CAL

Antique Cobalt Blue California Gold Rush Soda Bottle~ BOLEY & CO. SAC CITY, CAL Bottle Auction Description: Here's a great example of the 1850's BOLEY & CO SAC CITY soda. This example is so nice, that I've kept it in my collection for 30 yrs. A really vibrate blue, and zero casewear on this example. This is the variant with the Large "C" in SAC. the reverse side is embossed: UNION GLASS WORKS PHILAD.A Like I stated, a really nice example. No issues. For accuracy there are a couple of small tiny fisheyes or half moons on the heel that are found on almost all of the earlier sodas. Very non-distracting, and the only thing I could find to even mention on this bottle. It's mintness and color are why I kept it for so long. Looks like it just came off the store shelf in some old 1850's business in Sac ! It may've been cleaned at one time, but it certainly doesn't have the obvious appearance. Great texture on the bottle and especially the blob top; long tear-drop bubbles on the front shoulder and neck (none open), lots of residue on the pontil (sorry no red paint !).Winner to pay 9.75 shipping. * If you win more than one of my sodas this wk, I'll only charge 2.50 additional shipping on each extra bottle !This week's soda listings are all above average examples from my personal collection of over 30 yrs of upgrading, etc...

Bottle Auction: OLD DR. J. HOSTETTER'S STOMACH BITTERS FOUND W/PONTIL DARK OLIVE AMBER MEDICINE

OLD DR. J. HOSTETTER'S STOMACH BITTERS FOUND W/PONTIL DARK OLIVE AMBER MEDICINE Bottle Auction Description: Here we have a beautiful Dr. J. Hostetter's Stomach Bitters bottle. This one is super crude. It is privy dug but does not have any stain or case wear. There is a tiny flea bite that is barely noticeable on the corner of one of the panels. I only mention this for accuracy. This absolutely does not take anything away from this beautiful piece. I believe the "flea bite" is pictured in picture number 10. I looked over the bottle three times before finding it, Its so small and insignificant. Other than that it looks MINTY! This bottle must've been made with some exceptional glass. This bottle was found in a privy that dated probably between 1845 - 1865. This bottle reads: DR. J. HOSTETTER'S STOMACH BITTERS. It stands 9 1/2 inches tall and is about 3 inches wide. Has a super crude applied top. It also has a number 4 on the bottom of the bottle. I believe this bottle was made using the old style 3 piece mold as you can see the seams from the mold on the sides. Also you can see from the pictures this bottle is whittled like crazy. There are hundreds if not thousands of tiny little bubbles in the glass which gives it an awesome look. It's a super dark olive amber color which seems to be very desirable in bitters bottles. These bottles come in a variety of colors and this one is probably a more rare example to come across since most of these are a plain light amber color. This has got to be about as close to being pontil as it can be. Almost everything found in the privy was pontil. This would be a great piece to add to any bottle collection. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about the bottle. Good luck!On Oct-09-14 at 14:53:43 PDT, seller added the following information:Bottle is not Pontil. Has a smooth base with a number 4 on it.

Bottle Auction: scarce! 1880's MILES CITY MONTANA MT BEER bottle QT Blob Top W H BULLARD 1880's

scarce! 1880's MILES CITY MONTANA MT BEER bottle QT Blob Top W H BULLARD 1880's Bottle Auction Description: Please see my seller's list for more great items, thank you! DESCRIPTION - Up for auction is a very scarce MONTANA (TERRITORY vintage) Baltimore Loop style blob top beer bottle! Rarely are these hard to find bottles ever available! You are bidding on an old and authentic aqua glass hand blown Applied Blob Top W. H. BULLARD beer bottle, from MILES CITY, MONTANA (Territory at this time). This old bottle stands 11 1/4" high. Has large "A" embossed on underside of base. William H. Bullard was a well known early resident of the Miles City area in the 1870's-1890's time period. He was born in Boone County, Missouri in 1849. As a young man, he tried gold mining in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and the Black Hills of South Dakota. In December of 1876 he arrived at Milestown (Miles City) and was a citizen soldier under the command of General Nelson Miles of Fort Keogh, Montana Territory. He participated in the Lame Deer fight, and the fight at Bear Paw. In 1879 he became the Sheriff of Custer County, Montana Territory, arresting horse thieves and recovering stolen horses. In 1880 he bought out the Bach & Bodamer brewery in Miles City, and operated it as the Miles City Brewery. He purchased new equipment for the brewery, and had a formal opening in February of 1881. An artesian well was dug in 1883, and a brick expansion to the brewery was done in the fall of 1883. In May of 1884 he added a line of soda water and ciders, bottling them in Hutchinson soda and round bottom bottles. A business partner, Thomas H. Irvine, became part owner of the brewery in June of 1884. By 1885, the business was called Bullard's Star Brewery, and had a capacity of 4,500 barrels per year. Under the leadership of Bullard & Irvine, the brewery continued to operate at least into the early 1890's, the latest reference I've found was a legal case against the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1892. William Bullard also served as Custer County Commissioner in the late 1880's, and organized a Telephone Exchange in Miles City, along with owning the Bullard Hotel. He also had the "Bullard Gardens" associated near the Brewery, with caged bears on display, and lush gardens and dining areas. Quite the man! CONDITION - This old bottle is in good shape, no chips or cracks and clean glass. Bottle has been tumble cleaned and still retains some smooth shoulder wear, and light wear on the neck area. POSTAGE - Shipping will be $12.95 to anywhere in the USA. SORRY NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. I DO COMBINE ON SHIPPING and will ship several lots in one box to keep postage costs down. All items shipped via United States Postal Service unless you have some very special circumstances that do not allow this. INSURANCE and/or USPS TRACKING, as required, are INCLUDED in all postage charges. This protects both the buyer and seller from any hard feelings or loss due to Post Office mishandling. TERMS OF SALE - Winning bidder to pay with PAY PAL. If you are finished bidding in the auction and have won this lot, please click on the "Request Total" button at the top and I will send you an invoice as soon as I can, otherwise I will send you a full eBay invoice at the close of my auctions. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED on all my items, full money back including return postage if item not as described and pictured. If you are not fully pleased, let me know if there is anything I can do to improve the transaction! SORRY NO INTERNATIONAL SALES. Please click on the "about Me" link next to my user ID to read more about upcoming auctions I have planned for eBay! Washington State residents are required to pay sales tax, as the tax rate keeps going up, now at 8.5%, unless you furnish me with a copy of your Washington State Resellers Permit. Thanks for your understanding.

Bottle Auction: EARLY and VERY near PERFECT & pontilled LYNCH & CLARKE NEW YORK mineral water

EARLY and VERY near PERFECT & pontilled LYNCH & CLARKE NEW YORK mineral water Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. Here up for bids is one of the earlier pontilled examples of anot often encountered mineral water bottles. Embossed LYNCH & CLARKE / NEW YORK and it is VERY close to being in perfect condition. Not an attic found bottle, but it's SOOOooooo close to being in attic found condition. Still a top shelf specimen in my opinion. Only a few extremely light and small scratches near the base opposite the embossing and a very slight and minor spot of in manufacturing roughness on the edge of the lip which you should be able to see in the last picture. When looking at the lip as if it were the face of a clock, the tiny rough spot is where the number 7 would be. Most of these early spring/mineral water bottles came with a wire that went across the lip to keep the cork in place and that's what most likely caused that little rough spot. Also, as you can clearly see, there's a cork stuck in the neck which I didn't want to remove for fear of damaging/destroying the cork. This cork has GOT to be original to the bottle. If it's not the one it came with, it has certainly been with the bottle for a very long time. Never dug/cleaned/tumbled, this bottle has it's original surface gloss and it also has LOTS of character. Very nice crudity and dark swirl lines with plenty of bubbles too. It would be a real challenge to be able to find a nicer one with all the qualities that this bottle has to offer.NO RESERVE and GOOD LUCK!! Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time, but a quick payment is more than welcomeand also greatly appreciated. Once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your package in the mailASAP. Please ask questions before bidding. If you can spare a minute or two, have a look at my other listings and keep watching for more bottles and other cool stuff to come in the near future. THANKS and have a great day! ( :
