Bottle Auction: BUCKEYE BREWING CO ELK HD PILSENER TOLEDO O. Shot Glass

BUCKEYE BREWING CO ELK HD PILSENER TOLEDO O. Shot Glass Bottle Auction Description: CLEAR SHOT GLASS - "ELK'S HEAD" is embossed in a framed circle with hopps & barley depicted below and "BUCKEYE BREWING CO. PILSENER TOLEDO, O." enscribed below on three lines. This is a fragile clear shot glass with frosted type etching on the side of the glass. There is a very small "ding" that is located at the top of the glass and is visible in the photos above. I just sold the companion Buckeye Brewing Company Elk's Head blob top beer bottle for this shot glass earlier this evening on Ebay. These two companion pieces should stay together! After more than 40 years of collecting old bottles and fruit jars, I need to sell my collection. Over the next few weeks or months, I will be posting for sale on Ebay many old bottles, fruit jars, lids and interesting go-withs that I have assembled in my collection over many years. I have decided to post them in a "true auction format" by placing minimum starting bids on all the items because that's how I acquired them - by digging dumps, attending many farm & household auctions, traveling many miles to hundreds of flea markets & antique shows, or buying direct from the "old timers" themselves who owned them - all before the internet was available to us.Since I am a new Seller on Ebay, I will work with you on the shipping, handling and insurance costs (not sure what is the best method to offer you in that area), so let me know if you have a preference and we'll communicate more about that. If there is an interesting story connected with an item you acquire from me, I will share it with you, and I promise that I won't bore you too much with the details of the item's find...This has been a great hobby for me, one that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I only hope these items bring you as much pride and joy in your pursuit of collecting examples of older early American glassware as they provided for me for so long!

%% RARE %% CUTLER'S COMP.MYRRH TOOTH WASH OPEN PONTIL Bottle Auction Description: Here I am told is a rare CUTLER'S COMP.MYRRH TOOTH WASH bottle. It is an open pontil, strong embossing, rolled lip, heavy whittle, two part mold, and NO CHIPS OR CRACKS! It will need a very good cleaning - I only use soap and water because I do not want to damage the bottles I find. It is 5-1/2" tall by 1-1/4" deep by 2-1/4" wide. Has a little haziness to it but with the right cleaning, will shine. Ask any questions and know this is not a dug bottle. On Nov-16-10 at 07:57:30 PST, seller added the following information:Hi, I know this is a rare one and am already getting alot of people asking if I would end this auction early. I will not do that! It would be very unfair to the people who have already placed bids. If you are interested in this bottle, you should bid to your desired maximum price. Bottle Auction: C W MERCHANT CHEMIST LOCKPORT N.Y. - Rare Pontil Bottle

C W MERCHANT CHEMIST LOCKPORT N.Y. - Rare Pontil Bottle Bottle Auction Description: Embossed "C. W. MERCHANT CHEMIST LOCKPORT N.Y." The glass on this antique bottle is in good condition with the exception of a small flake at the top where I believe my shovel may have found it in the ground many years ago. The bottle also shows some evidence of an interior moisture stain that is mostly located on the back side of the bottle. I never had the bottle cleaned, choosing to leave it in the condition I found it. As shown in the photos, it's a deep bluish green color, but changes color depending on the light of the day. It has a grand pushed-up carbon or iron pontil on the base that is evident through the glass when the bottle is displayed on your shelf. The bottle measures approximately 7" tall with a 3 1/8" diameter base. This is a great, highly collectible, old American glass bottle found in a northern Ohio dump in the late 1960's! After more than 40 years of collecting old bottles and fruit jars, I need to sell my collection. Over the next few weeks or months, I will be posting for sale on Ebay many old bottles, fruit jars, lids and interesting go-withs that I have assembled in my collection over many years. Bottle Auction: RARE 4th Strange Seal ASCR black glass WINE BOTTLE 1776

RARE 4th Strange Seal ASCR black glass WINE BOTTLE 1776 Bottle Auction Description: rhusrluk rhusrluk Antiques in good taste - harmic.littleA superb, desirable, and extremely rare All Souls College Oxford Common Room (ASCR) bottle of the '4th Strange Seal', supplied to the College by the Oxford China and Glass dealer William Strange in 1776; the bottle probably manufactured in the Stourbeidge  area, circa 1776.  This is a fantastic find if you are a serious collector of, or dealer in, eighteenth century English black glass wine bottles. It is fascinating to think that this bottle was supplied to All Souls College at the very moment that the American revolution against English colonial rule was taking place. Thanks to the painstaking work of Fay Banks (The Wine Bottles of All Souls College, Oxford, 1750 - 1850, pub. Vidonia Press, 2002), we have a dating sequence for eighteenth century English wine bottles that is of incomparable value to the collector: this in spite of the fact that only a handful of dated ASCR bottles exists.  According to Ms Banks, the spur for the College to begin buying in and bottling its own wine was provided by the bad wine the Fellows increasingly encountered at their favorite Oxford tavern, the Three Tuns, in the High Street. The first batch of bottles, numbering in excess of 4,000, was laid down in September 1749.  There followed a nine year gap before the second purchase in 1760 and, by that time, Ms Banks estimates that almost 5,000 bottles had been broken or lost, so some very large orders were placed with the Stourbridge glasshouses in the thirty years from 1750-1780. It is interesting to look at what Ms Banks has to say about the bottle we are offering for sale: "There is a group of four bottles that all have very similar but slightly different seals. Each one is sealed ASCR with clearly visible guidelines at the top and bottom of the lettering (see the photographs we have provided below) which makes them look most attractive. They all look to have been engraved by the same hand. These four lots of bottles have been matched up with those supplied by the Oxford china and glass dealer William Strange. It is impossible to know in what order to place them but the present ordering is based upon bottle shape,  string rim type and kick-up depth". The bottle we are offering for sale seems to correspond closest with the seal illustrated on Plate 17 of Ms Banks' book (p.56). Ms Banks has characterized it as the '4th STRANGE SEAL'. As you will appreciate, this is a superb and very rare bottle as well as an important piece of social and glassmaking history. It is in outstanding condition with a wonderful surface patina but otherwise as bright and clean as the day it arrived at the College from Mr Strange's Oxford shop in 1776. The bottle measures approximately 10 7/8 inches in height and 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. There is only a slight ding about one inch above the seal. This cannot be felt with your finger, but for accuracy we are mentioning it. There are no chips. There are no cracks. This is truly a fantastic bottle in fantastic condition. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy, not just a rare bottle but a piece of the social history of the University of Oxford and of All Souls College itself. If you are a serious collector looking for an unrepeatable upgrade, or a top-end dealer looking for an outstanding item to give sparkle your antique shop or booth this is it! Equally if you represent a museum looking for items of importance in the history of glassmaking in England in the eighteenth century, you cannot afford to miss this wonderful bottle. We wish you good luck and hope you win. Bottle Auction: @RARE ESCAMBIA PEPSI COLA HUTCH SODA PENSACOLA FLA @!!

@RARE ESCAMBIA PEPSI COLA HUTCH SODA PENSACOLA FLA @!! Bottle Auction Description: Here is a fantastic and Super rare Pepsi Cola Hutch Soda. I believe this was the first bottle to ever hold Pepsi. The best part about it is its condition. There are no chips or cracks on this beuty. The original stopper is not present, and there is no staining. There is a little high point wear on the bottle from being a dug bottle, but that's it! In the pictures you will see a little bit of the remnants of white lettering, as someone had once painted all the letters, but I used some nail polish remover and took it off when I had it displayed with my collection. The front is embossed Escambia Pepsi Cola Bottling CO Pensacola FLA. It seems like every time you see one of these offered for sale, it always has a giant crack in it, or the top is cracked all the way around, or missing. This one is a beauty. Clear in color, and it stands a little bit over 6.5 inches. If you have been looking for one of these hard to find beauties... Here it is. Although it is a hutch, it has fit in nicely with my pontil sodas, and now it is time for us to part ways. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions. I am listing this beauty with no reserve, so someone is going to end up with a nice bottle. The shipping price of 13.99 will include insurance, but I pack very well.

Bottle Auction: Old Soda Hutch Style Bottle REITER BERSCH Milwaukee WI

Old Soda Hutch Style Bottle REITER BERSCH Milwaukee WI Bottle Auction Description: Old Soda Hutch Style Bottle REITER BERSCH Milwaukee WI Description:You are bidding on an old Wisconsin soda or pop bottle embossed: REITER & BERSCH. Embossed on back is W. McC & Co. This is a rather crude looking bottle as it is slightly misformed and has some seed bubbles, which only adds to its character. It is different from most ‘hutch’ style bottles, as it is more squatty and larger in diameter. This bottle I also found listed in the ‘Hutchinson’ category but I think it is earlier and would have taken a cork. Color: medium aqua blue.Condition: lip chips from picking out the cork – a small ding to the left of the "W" in W. McC & Co – case wear on the outside – cloudiness on the inside. With some effort, tumble cleaning this bottle could make it very presentable. This is one of the very first bottles I bought when I started collecting bottles back in 1960. What got me started on bottle collecting? When I added two rooms on to the house I found about 200 old bottles staring me in the face. I opened the existing roof for ventilation, the attic had been sealed for over 65 years, and as they say, the rest is history.Shipping will be for 2 LB from 44830.Notice: due to eBay’s recent rule regarding delivery and handling time, I need to stress: I am not responsible for a postal delay in delivery time as I normally ship same day or within 24 hours of payment received. Please wait for me to send you an invoice. Payment:Per ebay Policy, PAYPAL is accepted. NOTE: If you are having trouble with Paypal, please contact me through "ask seller a question." Payment must be received within ten days from close of auction. Cleared payments via Paypal ship immediately.
