Bottle Auction: Rare Color, Yellow-Green OLD DR. J, TOWNSEND'S SARSAPARILLA, Sparkling Mint!

Rare Color, Yellow-Green OLD DR. J, TOWNSEND'S SARSAPARILLA, Sparkling Mint! Bottle Auction Description: We hope you'll like this brilliant-mint example of this scarce Sarsaparilla bottle. It is 10" tall, with a tooled top and smooth base. The glass is light green, leaning toward yellowish-green tones. It is a bit later version of a Townsend, but the condition is even more important, because the glass shimmers and shines. The full embossing reads OLD DR. / J. TOWNSEND'S - SARSAPARILLA - NEW YORK. It's actually still possible to do a run of colors in this bottle or to do a grouping of the embossing variants. This is a great example in either case!

Bottle Auction: ORIGINAL 1861 WILLINGTON GLASS CO. INVENTORY BOOK: BOTTLES, CUSTOMERS, PROPERTY+

ORIGINAL 1861 WILLINGTON GLASS CO. INVENTORY BOOK: BOTTLES, CUSTOMERS, PROPERTY+ Bottle Auction Description: This booklet of 14 pages ( 28 side ) contains a great deal of information about the Willington Glass Co. in November 1861. The company had changed hands in 1847 and was producing glass bottles and flasks from their facility in northeastern Connecticut until the early 1870's. There are 9 pages with information on them in this booklet and the headings preview the information. The titles are : 1) "Account of Personal Property belonging to Willington Glass Co." 2) "Bottles Packed in Bottle house, basement, Depot Barn" 3)"Bottles not Packed" 4)"Real Estate in Wood" 5)"Bottle accounts due from individuals" 6)"Store accounts due from individuals" 7)"Accounts due to individuals from W. Glass Co." 8)"Notes due to individuals from W. Glass Co." Each page has names, or items written in pen & ink as well as a value in dollars & cents. They are quite detailed and all are readable. A large number on the last couple of pages have a large X across their name presumably because the "note" had been paid. Each page is 8 1/4" X 6 3/4" and contains 22 lines. Each line is divided in half, so there is space for 44 items. 8 sides are full, 5 have at least one column completely full, and of the remaining 5 sides most have the one column better than half full. I am attempting to illustrate the amount of information contained in this small booklet. The pages are sewn together with thread, which shows some discoloration, but is in very good condition. There is no cover, and the pages have a little edge wear, but they are over 150 years old. We are a smoke free home. There are no handling fees and we reimburse excess postage. Payment is expected in 7 days and we will combine shipping with multiple orders. Thank you for looking and good luck if you bid.

Bottle Auction: Great honey amber Weilersbacher Pittsburgh Hutch

Great honey amber Weilersbacher Pittsburgh Hutch Bottle Auction Description: chpcable Store Great honey amber Weilersbacher Pittsburgh Hutch This is about as nice an example as I've ever seen of this scarce hutch. It stands approximately 8" tall and is embossed: J. Weilersbacher Pittsburg Pa. It is a nice light honey amber and looks great in the window. This is the lightest example I've seen. They are normally dark amber and badly dinged up. This was found in the basement of a house and was cleaned with just soap and water. This would be a nice example to have of this scarce hutch. The nice thing is that there is no reserve. Good luck! It will be a long time before you see one as nice as this. You are bidding on the left bottle in the picture. The green Braddock hutch will be on another listing. Also, shipping and insurance are free.

Bottle Auction: SCARCE PRE-CIVIL WAR "BM & EA" CONSTITUTION BITTERS BOTTLE W/DARK GREEN COLOR/NR

SCARCE PRE-CIVIL WAR "BM & EA" CONSTITUTION BITTERS BOTTLE W/DARK GREEN COLOR/NR Bottle Auction Description: Here is a Amazing & EXTREMELY SCARCE Bitters Bottle that has been in my family since the Civil War Era and as a boy, I was always told this was purchased by our Confederate Ancestor somewhere around Selma Alabama, while he was in his encampment. However, I don't have any papers from my ancestor stating that, so I don't know how that could be proven. With that said though, I have Not gone through his letters or other papers that my brothers and I currently share after our parents passed away, so its possible he may have mentioned, and I will speak with my brothers to see if they can find anything as well as myself. I have gone through most of his positions that we still own and I don't recall seeing anything and that's why I state I'm not sure if we do at all. I do know it has survived his travels during that Era and my Ancestor, his wife was a Fanatic over glassware and she was sent this by her husband for that very reason....mainly because her favorite color was Green as I was always told and this is a BEAUTIFUL DARK Green color as the pics show above. I will also be happy to share my Confederate Ancestors name with the winner, but I won't be placing it on here as I don't want to be bombarded with questions for more of his items or history of him and our other Ancestors who served. I will also say, this will be one of the ONLY things I part with of his and I"m only doing so because we have an extensive glassware collection and my brothers and I have decided to part with only a few pieces, this being one of them. Over the years I have shown this to a few collectors and many have given me values and offers to purchase the item. The highest value we got was earlier this year when it was valued at 1800.00 - 2500.00 and every other value we heard was a thousand dollars and up. So, without question this is probably one of the RAREST Bottles to collect and EVERY SINGLE Collector that we have encountered has told us that. "I" personally don't know if its the RAREST, but one things for sure, it REALLY got the people flocking to us anytime we attended a show or bottle collectors convention. I printed out some information I found right online and you can see this above and I'll be happy to supply those printed papers to the winner if they want them. The papers have been folded, etc since I printed them out, so do know if you request them, they will be folded, etc and not in perfect condition. You can see in the 8th picture above how it cut the one picture in half of George Washington, etc because its a few pages long. The papers show the Original makers name and some history on them during 1856 & again, this can be found right online. At the beginning of the paper it states, "ATTACHED IS A PICTURE OF THE ULTRA RARE CONSTITUTION BITTERS FROM MY COLLECTION, WHICH OF COURSE MEANS ITS GEM MINT. ONE OF TWO KNOWN EXAMPLES. PONTILED. THE OTHER IS IN DICK WATSON'S COLLECTION. ED GRAY SAYS IT IS THE OLDEST OF THE GREAT FIGURALS, MAYBE THE OLDEST PERIOD. THAT IS FOR YOU TO FIND OUT!" Now, that is some AMAZING INFORMATION, but whats even more RARE is what else is said in the paper and you can read part of that in pic 8 above, but I will place that info here so you all can read it. " JUST BEFORE THE DECLARATION OF WAR OF 1812, THE HON. JOHN SMITH, OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE ( by the way, a very extraordinary man; he was elected to congress as a representative from Suffolk in 1799, kept in until 1804, when he was made a Senator to fill a vacancy, and re-appointed, and was Senator until 1813, wrote to his step-son, Edward H. Nicoll, ( Smith & Nicoll that I have wrote much about) that was was inevitable, and suggested the purchase of such goods as would be affected in value by the war. THIS LETTER WAS SUBMITTED TO SUYDAM & WILSON, AND JOINT PURCHASE WAS PROPOSED; BUT THE CONSERVATIVE, PATRIOTIC CHARACTER OF THE HOUSE FORBADE THE IDEA OF SPECULATING UNDER SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES. NEITHER OF THESE GREAT HOUSES AVAILED THEMSELVES OF THE INFORMATION OF THE SENATOR, AND MISSED A GLORIOUS OPPORTUNITY OF MAKING AN IMMENSE FORTUNE. EDWARD A. WHITLOCK, OF THE HOUSE OF B.M. & E.A. WHITLOCK & CO., WAS A CLERK WITH THE FIRM SUYDAM & WILSON FOR SOME TIME, AND LEFT IT TO GO WEST. BUT FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWS THEM IN 1858 BOTH AT WHITLOCK BENJAMIN M. GROCER, 18 BEEKMAN, H 9 K 16TH........WHITLOCK EDWARD A GROCER, 18 BEEKMAN, H 9 E. 16TH. I'M TRYING TO FIND THE "was a clerk for some time with Suydam & Wilson before leaving to go west" BLANK SPOT. THEY WERE AS SHOWN BACK IN BUSINESS IN NEW YORK IN MID 1850'S. NONE THE LESS, THIS DOES DATE THE FIRM OF "B.M. & E.A. WHITLOCK & CO." ALL THE WAY BACK TO 1813 AND MAYBE SOMETIME BEFORE EVEN. I "Highlighted" some important info mentioned in that online history of this RARE Bitters Bottle so you can see how RARE this bottle TRULY is, not only in MY eyes, but in the eyes of some of the BEST Bitters Bottles Experts out there today. You can see the Company which is Embossed on this Very Bottle has been dated back to 1813 at the very least and they could be older then that per that information. Again, you can find this right online if you want to read more about it, or this exact posting which I just typed the above from online. Just type in the "B.M. & E.A. Whitlock & Co. Bitters Bottle as that's all I did when I found it and as you can see in the pics above, its shows this Exact same Green color Bitters Bottle with the same embossing as the one I have for sale here. As you can see above, this Bottle is in Excellent condition considering its age, Travels and usage. I'm told this was used for drinking Liquor or Whiskey out of, but since I'm not a bottle expert, I can't say that a 100% and the posting I mention didn't say either, so will leave up to you experts. Pretty sure that's what my family stated our Ancestor used it for though. It has been kept in a sealed China Cabinet since I was boy and its still located there until its sold. I will also go ABOVE & BEYOND when I package this extremely rare piece of history, so it may feel quite heavier when the winner gets the box, but I will take NO chances shipping this unless I'm CERTAIN its WELL protected. It will HAVE to be FULLY insured as I do with all my items. Especially since they mention is possibly ONE OF THE OLDEST Bitters Bottles known and its one of two existing today. Now, I don't know if anymore have been found since that online posting, so maybe this will be the 3rd known or found today. I"m not a bottle expert by no means, but I do know enough as I've been dealing in Antique Americana for 20 plus years and I've NEVER had dealers and collectors flock to me at shows like they have when I was carrying this amazing bottle, well the only other time was when I carried my 1848 Sharps Carbine, but we still got a LOT more attention with this bottle. That alone shows ME how extremely scarce this bottle is. And I'm hoping it will find a GREAT home as it has had with my family for so many years, especially since I'm listing for the entire world to see and bid on it. The Bottle has a BEAUTIFUL Dark Green color throughout and the Bottom is NOT Darker then the top as the color carrys the same Depth throughout and I'm told that is a GREAT thing in the Bottle collecting field for what ever reason. There's NO cracks, breaks, etc in the bottle, but there is TONS of bubbles and some white residue around the inside lip as my family kept a couple flowers inside it when I was child. This will wipe away with no problems, but I personally left it that way for the Memory of my Grandmother, etc. From what I"m told by the dealers and from what I found on "Digger O'Dells" website, this has the "Applied Blob" top. It looks like it leans a little more to the one side as well around the blob top and you can see how the glass was rolled over when forming the top from what I"m told by the experts. This bottle also has the "OPEN" Pontil Bottom as shown above. Believe the pictures will do most of the talking on this one so here are the measurements and if you have any questions, feel free to email me anytime.Bitters Bottle measures 9 1/4" inches tall.Bottles WIDTH measures 3 1/4" inches wide.Bottle is EMBOSSED with RAISED Lettering that says, " B M & E A" on 1 side and the other side straight across from it has, " WHITLOCK & Co. NEW YORK" A fine piece of History that may NEVER come along again, so DON'T let this one pass you by. Truly needs to be in a Museum in my personal opinion. And I'm going to make this Fair to EVERYONE out there so they can have a chance at owning a once in a life time find by selling this with NO Reserve!!!!!! I'm placing this on a 10 day listing and selling it WITHOUT A RESERVE.BE sure to check out my other Rare listings this week!!!!! Bottle Auction: Western - "PHOENIX / WHISKEY / SAN FRANCISCO - Scarce 5th

Western - "PHOENIX / WHISKEY / SAN FRANCISCO - Scarce 5th Bottle Auction Description: Western - "PHOENIX / WHISKEY / SAN FRANCISCO - Scarce 5th This auction is for a very scarce Western picture whiskey bottle from San Francisco California. Beautiful highly graphic embossing with an eagle reads; "PHOENIX / WHISKEY / NABER, ALFS & BRUNE / SAN FRANCISCO" all across the entire face of the bottle. Center of embossing has a eagle rising from flames with his wings stretched outward. This bottle was hand blown into a two part mold in nice light & transparent golden amber colored glass, circa 1890s. It's in excellent original, clean, non polished condition with no damage or repairs. NO chips, nicks, cracks, scratches, stain or repairs. This one is so light that it really glows in a window and is a stand out example. The Phoenix 'Whiskey" is far more rare the Phoenix "Bourbon" especially in this beautiful light color. The better Western whiskeys are getting increasingly harder to find as there's few new discoveries. This beauty was found over 30 years ago along the California North Coast in redwood needles. NO RESERVE ! Buyer pays $9.85 Postal Service Priority Mail shipping, Packaging, Tracking in the U.S. Insurance optional, buyer assumes all shipping liability for uninsured items. Payment to be made within 7 days of the auction closeing please. However if you need longer, extended payment time may be arranged prior to the auction ending. Bottle Auction: Rare Monogram South Carolina Jo Jo Flask 1/2 Pint SC Dispensary Bottle

Rare Monogram South Carolina Jo Jo Flask 1/2 Pint SC Dispensary Bottle Bottle Auction Description: Up for bid is a rare South Carolina monogrammed ½ pint Jo Jo flask dispensary bottle. The bottle stands approximately 6 3/8' inches tall. The bottle does show average wear, lite interior fogging, and glass imperfections as normal but it is still a great dug condition bottle. The lip on the bottle does show some bruising as well as one chip located on the rear of the bottles lip. The bottle could use a good cleaning if preferred by the buyer. At the bottom the glass maker mark reads "C.G.CO.". The monogram strike is heavy and easily legible. This bottle came out of the private collection of a man from Pendleton, South Carolina. This would make a great addition to your South Carolina dispensary collection. I hope I don't regret it but I'm going to start this one out at $0.99 with no reserve on a 5 day auction! Packaging and shipping on this bottle will be set at $8.95. I ship all items through the United States Postal Service. PayPal transaction only and NO International sales please. Thanks and God Bless!

Bottle Auction: BARN Find, 2 FOUND - Dr. WILLIAMS Jaundice BITTERS, Embossed & Labeled, CONTENTS

BARN Find, 2 FOUND - Dr. WILLIAMS Jaundice BITTERS, Embossed & Labeled, CONTENTS Bottle Auction Description: Up for auction is a recent barn fresh find - A pair of Dr. Williams Jaundice Bitters, both embossed and labeled, one is still sealed with contents, the other no contents !!!PLEASE NOTE: This auction is for BOTH BOTTLES for ONE $$$$These were found this last fall inside an old stone and wood barn structure when I was out metal detecting. I'll be trying to go back real soon for a hopeful privy dig site !!!Both bottles are from the same proprietor - a Dr. Williams out of Lowell, Mass. or should I say Dr. Kelsey as the bottle is embossed Dr. Kelsey but the label says Dr. Williams Vegetable Jaundice Bitters by Dr. Kelsey. I guess Dr. Kelsey must have bottled up and sold some of Dr. Williams products, who knows... One bottle has a reddish colored hard wax-seal over the cork top sealing the contents - unfortunately the other one is empty. Both have paper labels along with the embossing which have darkened over the years. Labels are still very readable - "Dr. Williams Vegetable Jaundice Bitters".Anyway, I would like to think that these would have come across from Massachusetts to Missouri by some early eastern immigrants which were probably westward bound but I have no proof of that.I would say definitely 1870's or so from the bottle manufacturing techniques. Early hinge mold with crudely hand applied tops. Not pontiled bottles but not too far off...Embossed on the front is "Dr. H. KELSEY" followed by "LOWELL MASS". Note - no periods after MASS or comma between city and state, which is kinda neat.Overall height is just under 7 inches, sort of a curved shoulder semi-flask shape, about 2-3/4 inches across by 1-1/2 inches in depth. Both look to be in absolutely PERFECT condition, no damage at all to the bottles. Labels are somewhat old, weathered, and darkened but still highly legible. Please see all photos as they are a very accurate representation of the condition.Larger photos below: If you have any questions or would like additional photos please don't hesitate to e-mail me. Since these are GLASS items, they MUST be shipped insured and cost will be included in my shipping price - NO EXCEPTIONS !!! Shipping cost is for US buyers only - other bidders please email for shipping cost as rates will be different. NOTE: Please wait for my REVISED invoice before paying so proper shipping costs can be determined !!!!Thanks for looking and good luck if you choose to bid !!! Bottle Auction: Incredible Western Bird Cutter "J.H. CUTTER OLD BOURBON" The Best!

Incredible Western Bird Cutter "J.H. CUTTER OLD BOURBON" The Best! Bottle Auction Description: WESTERN BOTTLE AUCTION Incredible Western Bird Cutter "J.H. CUTTER OLD BOURBON" The Best! These are fairly scarce and tough to come and I'll bet most have never seen one like this. Without question the nicest looking Bird Cutter I've seen in 40 plus years of collecting Western 5ths. and has been a favorite in my collection. Other obligations force the sale of some very special items and this one is no exception. Embossing reads: "J.H. CUTTER / OLD / BOURBON / TRADE MARK / C.P. MOORMAN MANUF. / LOUISVILLE KY. / A.P. HOTALING & CO." reverse reads: "CUTTER / O.K. / WHISKY" in a round seal on the shoulder. On the front shoulder appears a flying bird with the words: "J.H. CUTTER / OLD / BOURBON" also in a seal. This is one the most incredible, hammered whittled whiskies I've ever seen, it's so whittled it'll bring tears to your eyes! Not only that but the entire body of the bottle is full of swirls in the glass giving it spectacular character. No matter how I try I just can not capture the extreme whittle and crudeness of this exceptional bottle, it's far nicer in real life. Hand blown into a two part mold in a rich amber colored glass by the "San Francisco Glass Works" circa mid 1870s. Original as found, non tumbled/polished condition. There is a in the making annealing fracture on the inside where the top meets the neck about 1/2" in each direction and a couple more smaller ones on the very top. These are not from an impact and likely caused when the top was applied and cooled. I also note a few very light minor scratches on one side. This bottle was found by a hunter decades ago on an island up in Alaska. You'll have a hard time finding a more crude, whittled example than this. I'll guarantee the winning bidder will absolutely love this incredible bottle. NO RESERVE ! Buyer pays $12.85 for Priority Mail shipping, Packaging, Delivery confirmation & Tracking in the U.S. Insurance optional, buyer assumes all shipping liability for uninsured items. Payment to be made within 7 days of the auction closeing please. However if you need longer, extended payment time may be arranged prior to the auction ending. Payments other than PayPal gladly accepted if you choose. Keep watching our auctions, more Western bottles coming! On Oct-28-12 at 20:48:34 PDT, seller added the following information:I forgot to mention there's a little nick on the base rim and that the pictures were taken with sunlight behind the bottle. There also an embossed whiskey keg & crown. An extreme specimen of a very early western whiskey........
