Bottle Auction: Very early and VERY scarce diminutive 3 1/2 inch FREE BLOWN CHESTNUT FLASK MINT

Very early and VERY scarce diminutive 3 1/2 inch FREE BLOWN CHESTNUT FLASK MINT Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. Up for bids is this very scarce and very early 3 1/2 inch size free blown Chestnut flask. It was probably made in the early 1800's and it's quite possibly a south Jersey piece. There's not a thing wrong with it. It's as mint as it gets and in a very nice shade ofblue green with a little more green than blue I would say. Certainly NOT aqua. In the 6th picture youcan get a feel for just how small this bottle is. I took a picture of it next to a Stoddard double eagle1/2 pint flask for size comparison. The Stoddard flask is not part of this auction. You are bidding onlyon the little Chestnut flask. Thank you and GOOD LUCK! Please be sure to ask questions before bidding. Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time and once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your package in the mail ASAP. If you have a little time, please have a look at my other listings and keep checking back for more bottles to come in the near future. THANKS and have a great day. ( :On Feb-20-14 at 19:25:25 PST, seller added the following information:Just a quick addition/revision to the description. I'm sorry everybody. I made a small mistake exactly aquarter of an inch in length. The height of the mini Chestnut is 3 and 3/4 inches. I guess my eyes weren't focused properly when I took the measurement the first time. Thank you very much.

Bottle Auction: Historical Portrait Flask GI-71 Major Ringgold - General Taylor

Historical Portrait Flask GI-71 Major Ringgold - General Taylor Bottle Auction Description: GI-71 Portrait flask honoring Generals Taylor and Ringgold. Major Ringgold was from Baltimore and Helen McKearin attributes this flask to the Baltimore Glass Works ca. 1846-47. The glass is a clear greenish aquamarine of excellent quality. I can find no defects on this piece other than a few small, light scratches. There are no dull rub spots on the high relief and the strike is extremely clear and well done. A small potstone in the neck with no radiations. The blowpipe pontil mark has a chunk of glass that extends beneath the flat base, making the flask tilt very slightly on the shelf, but it is well balanced and still solid. It won't rock back and forth when your cat jumps up on your top shelf. A great example of this flask with no excuses.

WE ARE HAPPY TO COMBINE SHIPPING ON ALL MULTIPLE PURCHASES. PLEASE AWAIT OUR QUOTE FOR ACTUAL SHIPPING & INSURANCE FEES.THE HEATH COLLECTION from UNION, MAINE Ryanjordan71 is pleased to announce the distinct honor of being selected to auction the large, distinguished bottle and glass collection of Mrs. Muriel and the late Mr. Robert "Bob" Heath of Union, Maine. Formally speaking, the Heaths began their wonderful "bottle and glass hunt" in 1966 when they answered an invitation to what would unexpectedly turn out to be the charter meeting of the New England Bottle Club! The very next weekend, Bob would dig the "charter" bottle (a deep green pepper sauce) of their collection at his parents farm in Union! During the following nearly 30 years, there would be many "treasures" found, as the Heaths built their well known collection through local and distant auctions, bottle and antique shows as well as buying directly from local pickers and antique dealers. As one long time Maine picker told us recently........"you never had to worry about a fair deal with the Heaths.....when Bob made an offer it was the right one"!The Heaths "journey" was as much about people as it was about glass! Muriel (now in her 95th year), relates so poignantly "the real treasures were the friends we made along the way"! In the winter of 2013, we were asked to sell the Heaths fine fruit jar collection at Ebay. Being pleased with both the level of enthusiasm and wide geographical interest, Muriel and her family have chosen Ryanjordan71 to handle the remainder of the Heath collection. For this "tip of the cap" we are very grateful! Their prolific collection includes early FLASKS in such forms as Historical, Portrait, Calabash, Masonic, Sunburst, Scroll, Lyre, Pitkin, Stiegel, Nailsea, Lay Down and others. Bottle categories include: Chestnuts, Globs, Demi-Jons, Medicines, Whiskeys, Pickles, Pepper Sauces, Inks, Gins, Bitters, Figurals, Snuffs, Utility, Moxie, Poland Springs, Torpedos, Figural Standing Bears. Also Baby Bottles and Feeders (perhaps the finest known collection extant); Large collection of Sandwich Glass Salts, Colognes, Scents, Decanters, Toilets and MUCH, MUCH MORE!! Please follow along with us in the coming weeks and months as we offer things from this superb MARKET FRESH Maine collection. ......all being sold with NO RESERVE! Nothing has been added to the Heath collection for twenty years! ALL MAINE BUYERS are responsible for 5% Maine State Sales Tax, unless you fax or enclose a current and valid copy of your Maine Resale License along with your payment. ALL PIECES GUARANTEED TO BE "OF THE PERIOD" and AS DESCRIBED Thanks for looking and good luck!
