Bottle Auction: Extremely Rare John Ryan Excelsior Mineral Water Savannah, No Date Smooth Base

Extremely Rare John Ryan Excelsior Mineral Water Savannah, No Date Smooth Base Bottle Auction Description: This is a smooth base John Ryan Excelsior Mineral Water from Savannah, Georgia. It has been professionally cleaned. It is in nice condition, with only a tiny rough spot on top of the lip that is felt but not seen. Most collectors of John Ryan soda variants know that his pontiled bottles were not dated, but the smooth base bottles almost always were dated. This example is the same style and top similar to the 1859 mineral waters, but has no date. As is shown in the base photo, you can see that this is definitely a smooth base finished with a snap case tool. Although this exact variant is not listed in Russ Butler's Illustrated List of Savannah Sodas, this bottle is similar to #10-126, except missing the date 1859. Posted with eBay Mobile

PLEASE AWAIT OUR QUOTE FOR ACTUAL SHIPPING & INSURANCE FEES.THE HEATH COLLECTIONfromUNION, MAINE Ryanjordan71 is pleased to announce the distinct honor of being selected to auction the large, distinguished bottle and glass collection of Mrs. Muriel and the late Mr. Robert "Bob" Heath of Union, Maine. Formally speaking, the Heaths began their wonderful "bottle and glass hunt" in 1966 when they answered an invitation to what would unexpectedly turn out to be the charter meeting of the New England Bottle Club! The very next weekend, Bob would dig the "charter" bottle (a deep green pepper sauce) of their collection at his parents farm in Union! During the following nearly 30 years, there would be many "treasures" found, as the Heaths built their well known collection through local and distant auctions, bottle and antique shows as well as buying directly from local pickers and antique dealers. As one long time Maine picker told us recently........"you never had to worry about a fair deal with the Heaths.....when Bob made an offer it was the right one"!The Heaths "journey" was as much about people as it was about glass! Muriel (now in her 95th year), relates so poignantly "the real treasures were the friends we made along the way"! In the winter of 2013, we were asked to sell the Heaths fine fruit jar collection at Ebay. Being pleased with both the level of enthusiasm and wide geographical interest, Muriel and her family have chosen Ryanjordan71 to handle the remainder of the Heath collection. For this "tip of the cap" we are very grateful! Their prolific collection includes early FLASKS in such forms as Historical, Portrait, Calabash, Masonic, Sunburst, Scroll, Lyre, Pitkin, Stiegel, Nailsea, Lay Down and others. Bottle categories include: Chestnuts, Globs, Demi-Jons, Medicines, Whiskeys, Pickles, Pepper Sauces, Inks, Gins, Bitters, Figurals, Snuffs, Utility, Moxie, Poland Springs, Torpedoes, Figural Standing Bears. Also Baby Bottles and Feeders (perhaps the finest known collection extant); Large collection of Sandwich Glass Salts, Colognes, Scents, Decanters, Toilets and MUCH, MUCH MORE!! Please follow along with us in the coming weeks and months as we offer things from this superb MARKET FRESH Maine collection. ......all being sold with NO RESERVE!Nothing has been added to the Heath collection for twenty years! ALL MAINE BUYERS are responsible for 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, unless you fax or enclose a current and valid copy of your Maine Resale License along with your payment. ALL PIECES GUARANTEED TO BE "OF THE PERIOD" and AS DESCRIBED Thanks for looking and good luck!

Bottle Auction: WESTFORD GLASS CO marked flask! GXIII-36 mold!

WESTFORD GLASS CO marked flask! GXIII-36 mold! Bottle Auction Description: Here is a fine example of a comparatively scarce glasshouse marked historical flask, referred to as GXIII-36 in McKearin's American Bottles & Flasks. The 36 is similar to the more common 35, however, this mold has a star under the sheaf of wheat and tools. Well, there is no second guessing where this flask is from, it is clearly marked "WESTFORD GLASS CO / WESTFORD, CONN." I would guess that this is from the mid 1860s, probably right around the civil war. Nice crude applied lip, and a smooth base. Olive amber color, and some nice small seed bubbles. Embossing is good, with very little to no high point wear. Condition is excellent! This is a fine glass factory marked historical flask!Buyer pays shipping. 7 day return policy if not as described. Please check out our other listingsGOOD LUCK!

Bottle Auction: Antique Flask: American Eagle & Grapes, GII-55 Teal Quart, New Jersey, ca.1830's

Antique Flask: American Eagle & Grapes, GII-55 Teal Quart, New Jersey, ca.1830's Bottle Auction Description: An early American Eagle Flask, probably blown at Coffin & Hay Glass Works, Hammonton, New Jersey, ca.1830's. There is also some fairly strong evidence pointing toward the Waterford Glass Works about 3 miles away, but NJ regardless. This is the Eagle & Grapes GII-55 Quart in a superb Teal Green; sheared mouth / plain lip with pontil mark on a slightly depressed base.Obverse shows an American Eagle facing left, with a breast shield. Its talons are clutching three arrows and an olive branch. (13) 5-pointed stars are arranged above. On Reverse: a very large Grape Bunch descending from leaves and stem above. Bold medial ribbing on both edges.Condition: There is a small chip on inner lip and a stable frac in the neck, as shown; otherwise excellent. A strong mold impression with very minor high point wear on the areas of highest relief. There is some untrimmed glass that has oozed out near the pontil; not the first time I have seen a GII-55 with this anomaly. Likely due to a small gap in the original two-part mold. The flask rocks slightly on a level sill due to the excess glass. Superb glass color; probably a shade lighter in-hand than depicted. This flask was photographed in natural light against a neutral background. See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. One-Quart capacity; measures 8"H x 5-3/8"W x 3-3/8"D overall.Offered without reserve; ships fully insured to the highest bidder, anywhere in the lower 48. Domestic (US) bidders with Paypal only, please. Payment is expected within 3 days. Thanks for looking, and be sure to bookmark my Auctions, listed and ending daily.Posted with eBay Mobile

Bottle Auction: Keene Masonic Glass Flask Bottle RARE

Keene Masonic Glass Flask Bottle RARE Bottle Auction Description: I received so many questions on the color of this bottle that I ended that auction, took new photos with a camera (not my i-phone) and have delisted. Here it is. These are becoming VERY RARE!!! On one side of this flask is an eagle above "KEENE" in a circle. On the other is a great Masonic symbol scene (see photos.) The bottle is AMBER. 7 1/2" tall and 1" across at throat. No chips, cracks, nothing. Great pontil mark. Inside of throat is rough to the touch - not unusual for being handmade and well over 100 years old. Good luck bidding and don't hesitate to send questions. Bottle Auction: Heroin Apothecary Bottle, Huge 12" Bottle, Label Under Glass

Heroin Apothecary Bottle, Huge 12" Bottle, Label Under Glass Bottle Auction Description: Huge apothecary bottle (12" tall) with label under glass for "Fl. Terp. Hydr. Heroin". Applied label under glass has considerable damage with portions missing along the left side and discoloration. The portion reading "Heroin" is complete and undamaged. The bottle itself stands an impressive 12" tall to the top of the stopper which is frozen in the neck and cannot be removed. The bottle is an unusual 3-piece mold with mold lines (both horizontal and vertical) clearly visible at the base of the shoulder and up to the neck. Bottle is free from damage. Label-under-glass bottles with "heroin" contents are very rare, and this is the only one I've ever seen with "heroin" completely spelled out. Please see my other auctions for two other apothecary bottles that contained opium. Please note that you are bidding only on the Fl. Terp. Hydr. Heroin bottle, the other bottle shown in one of the photos is being auctioned separately. Bid with confidence--all items guaranteed to be old and original and come with a 14-day return if not satisfied. Buyer to pay $14.00 shipping in the U.S. I will ship to Canada, Australia, and Europe (except Italy). At buyer's request, I will accept forms of payment other than PayPal.

This item is in generally excellent condition with cracks, has a slight haze primarily at the base, and is has a cork stopper. It has a "flake" off the neck of the bottle. I have attached photographs for viewing. This piece measures approx. 9 1/4" tall x 3 1/2 " at it's widest diameter. This bottle was interesting to research, it is amazing what you can find!John Michael Topper was known throughout his life as a merchant. His father, Peter Andrew Topper, one of the earliest settlers of New Baltimore, Somerset County, died when John was a young man of just 21, in the year 1865. Initially, John Michael had started out as a merchant in a dry goods store in Roxbury, Stoneycreek Township, Somerset County. Later the operation was run from the town of New Baltimore. After that John Michael built and operated a distillery. Then he acquired, in addition, the well-known Suhre distillery in Stoneycreek which had been involved in some sort of tax litigation. He also had a gristmill operation. The Topper gristmill was built by John Topper at a location just west of New Baltimore along the road leading in the Breastwork Road. Farmers from the surrounding community brought their grain on horses and wagons to the mill to be ground into meal. Part of his rationale in building the mill was the assurance that he would have a necessary supply of rye grist for his distilleries. The Topper distilleries were noted for a high quality rye whiskey and operated till the onset of Prohibition. Bid with confidence as I package and ship very well. This comes from an estate that has not seen the light of day in over 30 years!

Bottle Auction: DEEP dark & inky MIDNIGHT BLUE soda J. WISE ALLENTOWN PA

DEEP dark & inky MIDNIGHT BLUE soda J. WISE ALLENTOWN PA Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. I don't think I've ever seen a bottle in a deeper, darker, BLUEcolor than this one. When on the shelf without any light behind it, it verges on being a black glass bottle. There are no chips, cracks, flea bites, open bubbles, etc... just a small bit of very light wear and to be totally picky about it, there's perhaps just an extremely small, light and barely visible scuff or two. Look at the pictures and judge for yourself. With a very light tumble, this one will be in attic mint condition. The embossing reads as follows....J.WISE ALLENTOWN PA and on the reverse...THIS BOTTLE BELONGS TO JAMES WISE. I always thought that that was very cool and very possibly unique to Mr.Wise's bottles. It's not the normally seen THIS BOTTLE IS TO BE RETURNED WHEN EMPTY or THIS BOTTLE IS NEVER SOLD. Anyway, the highest bidder will definitely NOT be disappointed with this bottle. It's a killer example in all original condition and has never been messed with. The height of the bottle is 6 7/8 inches and it's 2 5/8 across the base. GOOD LUCK!! Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time but a quick payment is always welcome andvery much appreciated. Once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your package in the mail ASAP.Please remember to ask questions before entering a bid. If you can spare a few minutes, please have a look at my other items and keep watching for more bottles to come in the near future. THANKS and have a great day! ( :

Lot 1 Nice Pair of Midget Pint Mason 1 Jar Patent Nov 30th 1858 Small Letters Bottle Auction Description: Lot includes: a pair of Midget Pint Mason 1 Jar Patent Nov 30th 1858 Small Letters, two different but very similar molds. No cracks on the jars, not even any chipping at the grinding area on the top of both jars, mostly sparkling mint glass surfaces, lids are solid and one has very faint debossed writing where 'Trade Mark' is just barely legible, other lid top is plain. Lid insert liners are milk glass and they are embossed Consolidated Fruit Jar Company, New York and Boyd's Genuine Porcelain Lined which has 5 small holes worn through in one area but the lid is solid. Jar on the right has some sort of bruising about 80% around the base corner as seen in the photo. I don't know what it is, but there is no glass missing. One bid buys both jars. Sold with no reserve and sold as is. ASK questions BEFORE you buy. Refunds are 7 days money back. I don't ever do buy it now, never make second chance offers and never end my sales early. If payment is not received within 7 days a non-paying bidder alert form will be filed. Insurance is required on lots over $100.
