Bottle Auction: C. Burkhardt 435 Thompson St. Phila, Pa. teal green blob RARE!

C. Burkhardt 435 Thompson St. Phila, Pa. teal green blob RARE! Bottle Auction Description: RELISTED, please read description for updates.Up for sale is an exceptionally rare teal green champagne type beer from Philadelphia.Embossed: C. Burkhardt / 435 / Thompson / St. / Phila (in slugplate)This bottle to to be sold (back)Note the backwards Ss in Thompson and St!Measures 9-1/4" tallI would date this bottle from ca. 1875-1885.Very good overall condition. Light overall wear, and a 1/4" hairline crack on the front heel. Upon initial inspection, I thought this was just a surface scrape, but viewed in sufficient light the hairline is visible. I wasn't able to get it to "flash" for the camera, and it appears to me that it does not travel completely through the glass. No other damage, this was probably an attic or basement find! An amazing blob! Green blobs are hard enough to find, and teal is even harder. This bottle would be the centerpiece of a colored blob collection. This bottle will be shipped in a double box with insurance.

Bottle Auction: ~ Stunning ~ Louisville Ribbed Pint flask - Iron Pontil - Rare Variant...!!

~ Stunning ~ Louisville Ribbed Pint flask - Iron Pontil - Rare Variant...!! Bottle Auction Description: Here we have a gorgeous pint flask. It is ribbed in the same style as the Louisville flasks. It is 7 1/4" tall and has a solid reddish-black iron pontil mark on the base. The glass is a really nice deep greenish blue aqua color and has loads of whittle and great pebbly crude texture to it. The Lip has a drippy applied double ring. Very rare and unusual to find this top on a flask like this. Looks more like a medicine style top than a flask. Pretty unique. The condition is perfect...! No chips, dings, cracks, flakes, bruises, open bubbles, etc. No real scratches either. Has sparkling clean glass as well, a little dusty from being on the shelf. This is an excellent looking bottle with great character....!!

Bottle Auction: MINT! 6 log ST DRAKE'S 1860 PLANTATION X BITTERS~TOP SHELF EXMPL & NOT A SCRATCH

MINT! 6 log ST DRAKE'S 1860 PLANTATION X BITTERS~TOP SHELF EXMPL & NOT A SCRATCH Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. OK, so some of you may remember seeing this one before. Thisone was returned to me because when the person got it,(I have a feeling that he might be color blind)he told me that it was amber. Well, I certainly don't see an amber bottle, but what could I say if he decided to send it back? HIS loss, is now YOUR gain. Two different photos have been added and the color looks accurate on my screen. But this bottle is DARK. BLACK as night when there's no light coming through. But just take a look at pic #6. This page is from Glass Works auction #64 which was way back in 2002. The rest of what follows after this first set of dots is a continuation of my original listing............ I know that it hasn't been the greatest weather for taking bottle photos for the last two days, but I did the best with what I had and the great news IS...it's MINT. There; I said it. The bottle is MINT and I don't see so much as a scratch or scuff (or any other issues for that matter),anywhere on it. Just a beautiful, TOP shelf example and it's even got a grainy/sandy texture and just to sum it all up in only two simple words,.......BLACK BEAUTY. Please examine ALL of the photos carefully. If you see anything on the glass, it's only a finger print smudge. There's a bit of base wear, but the rest of the bottle is in its original state and has never been cleaned/tumbled. It's got a nice, fat applied tapered collar lip, BOLD embossing and a fantastic mold impression. I can keep going on, but I'm going to let the photos do the rest of the talking for me. I will say just one last thing though. And that is,........You will spend quite a lot of time TRYING to find a better example than this one and you will most likely come up empty handed anyway. So don't regret missing out on this one. HERE'S your CHANCE! ( : *Height of the Drake's is 9 9/16 inches.* Offered with NO RESERVE!! BEST of LUCK to you!! Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time, but a quick payment is certainly alwayswelcome and would also be much appreciated. Once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your packagein the mail and on its way to you ASAP. Some of you may already know about my plans to move in a few more months, but some of you may not. So with that being said, I'd really appreciate not havingto deal with returns because of my downsizing a good portion of my collection in order to lighten theload. So if there's ANYthing you're not sure of, PLEASE ask me before you enter a bid. Don't forgetto check out my other listings and remember to keep checking back for more SWEET antique glass tocome in the near future. THANKS and have a great day! ( :

Bottle Auction: Dr Kilmers Co Lung Bottle Catarrh Specific Cough Cure Consumption Binghampton NY

Dr Kilmers Co Lung Bottle Catarrh Specific Cough Cure Consumption Binghampton NY Bottle Auction Description: Up for auction is a nice example of the elusive Dr. Kilmer's & Co. Catarrh Specific Cough Cure Consumption Lung Bottle from Binghamton, NY. This was dug in NW Phila. a few years ago. It has been blown in aqua glass batch into a two-part mold with a tooled mineral finish. Nice post mold base with dimpled push-up. Three recessed panels on the frontal view, embossed: Catararrh -in an arched recess, Dr. Kilmer's / Cough Cure / Consumption -in a lung-shaped recess, Specific -in a crown-shaped recess. Vertical side panels are embossed: Dr. Kilmer & Co., Binghamton, N.Y. Unembossed recessed panel on the reverse which would have received the paper labeling. It is in fine dug condition with no damage. It has very little ground wear; just some patchy haze which would tumble out quickly. Nice mini scattered bubbles throughout the bottle. Stretching lines through the upper neck area. There is one small ping on the right shoulder shown in the last image. The lung mold is certainly the hardest one to find, next to the heart, followed by the more common liver and swamp root variations. This is a rare Kilmer specific. Few of these seemed to be made and it was probably superseded by the Kilmer Indian Cough medicines. It measures: nearly 8 3/4" high x 2 7/8" & 1 3/4" base dimensions.

Bottle Auction: LIGHT TEAL - Sunburst Historical Flask - GVIII-29 antique bottle

LIGHT TEAL - Sunburst Historical Flask - GVIII-29 antique bottle Bottle Auction Description: Here's an example from one of the greatest groups in the historical flasks; geometrical flasks. Many of these are the earliest examples of historical flasks, starting in the 1810's. Unfortunately, most command high-dollar prices and are typically uncommon to acquire. You are bidding on a LIGHT TEAL GVIII-29 Sunburst Historical Flask, in a near-pint size. It its listed as Comparatively Scarce, and from an unknown New England Glass Works. I think it was probably made in Keene, NH, just a theory. I've set a moderate reserve for this fine early flask. This is another historical flask I'm offering in a lighter teal color, though these are more widely recognized in this shade. It has the heavy mold seam traversing the base, and a pontil that is seen on many geometrical flasks, I think they call it a 'sticky pontil'. Sheared top has some bits of carbon in the glass, CONDITION: No cracks, chips, or bruises. There is some scattered high-point wear on some of the 18 ribs in certain areas, and both centers of the sunbursts exhibit high-point wear. Minimal base wear on this example. The sheared and tooled top seems damage free, there may be three consecutive half-sized flea bites on the top edge of the lip, but I honestly think it is from manufacture; it doesn't detract, and not consistent with damage. I've compared the Sunburst Flask against an aqua scroll to demonstrate the Sunburst offered is not aqua in color. It is again compared against a Twitchell soda (a well known teal bottle), and the Sunburst is not as deeply colored teal as the Twitchell. Please utilize the pics for final condition and color judgement. The flask being offered is ONLY the Sunburst flask.

Bottle Auction: Blue Pontiled 1850's Soda Bottle from Richmond, VA - Altered Mold

Blue Pontiled 1850's Soda Bottle from Richmond, VA - Altered Mold Bottle Auction Description: This pontiled soda would make a great addition to any bottle hound's collection! The bottle is labeled M. McCormack - This Bottle is Never Sold. The color is more of a Cornflower or Sapphire blue instead of Cobalt Blue. I haven't tried to clean the inside of this bottle (I'm not sure how blue glass from the 1850's would react to my usual bottle cleaning methods). This is some interesting evidence of an alteration of the bottle mold on this bottle. The 'M' just before the word 'McCormack' shows evidence that it once was an 'N'. I have read that the mold for the earlier examples of these bottles was originally cut incorrectly (the 'M' stood for the name 'Malachi') with an 'N' instead of an 'M'. Molds were very expensive at the time, so the decision to re-cut the mold was made!I believe the photos show the condition pretty well. I usually can't ship on a Saturday, so bids won on a Friday will be shipped the following Monday pending payment.Happy Bidding!
