Bottle Auction: ca1826 BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HISTORICAL FLASK GI-96 PONTIL

ca1826 BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HISTORICAL FLASK GI-96 PONTIL Bottle Auction Description: Stunningly beautiful and exceptionally rare, original, ca1826, Open Pontil, Quart Size, American Historical Flask / Bottle featuring bust portraits of Benjamin Franklin and T. W. Dyott, M. D. by the Kensington Glass Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and designated GI-96 by McKearin/Wilson. This amazing, attic find, Franklin/Dyott Historical Flask measures approx. 8" tall and 5 3/4" at its widest point. It is aquamarine in color and is in as mint condition as we have ever seen a Historical Flask of this period. The Flask features a bust portrait of Benjamin Franklin on one side with "Benjamin Franklin" above the bust and text on a panel that surrounds the Franklin Portrait side reads: "ERIPUIT COELO FULMEN SCEPTRUMQUE TYRANNIS" (this loosely translates to "He snatched the lightening from heaved and the scepter from tyrants."). The opposite side features a bust portrait of Doctor T. W. Dyott - the owner of the Kensington Glass Works. Text above Dyott's portrait reads "T. W. Dyott, M. D." and text on a panel that surrounds the Dyott Portrait side reads: - "KENSINGTON GLASS WORKS PHILADELPHIA". The Flask has a very large, broken pontil on the base and an extensively "whittled" surface. The Flask offered here is one of only 5 American Historical Flasks featuring portraits of Benjamin Franklin. In 31+ years we have never owned or even seen a single, Benjamin Franklin, hand blown, American Historical Flask and believe the Flask offered here to be exceptionally rare!! This rare and VERY beautiful, Benjamin Franklin, hand blown, American Historical Flask is in near mint condition - clean and crisp without even the slightest hint of surface wear, staining or discoloration. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or damage of any kind. We honestly cannot find even the slightest flaw to describe here. The Flask is amazingly well preserved and is unconditionally guaranteed to be original and of the period ca1826. An exceptionally beautiful, very rare and amazingly well preserved, ca1826 Open Pontil, Quart Size, American Historical Flask / Bottle featuring bust portraits of Benjamin Franklin and T. W. Dyott, M. D. by the Kensington Glass Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and designated GI-96 by McKearin/Wilson and a fantastic addition to any Collection!!! Overseasshippping is extra and cost will be quoted at bidders request. Massachusetts residents must add 5% sales tax. Insurance is required on all items selling for $400 or more and optional on items selling for under $400 (but highly recommended. If you do not want insurance please let us know. Please check out other early and interesting items offered by this seller on ebay. Click Here to See Our Items We Have for Sale in the eBay Gallery and Click Here to Add Us To Your Favorite Sellers List Important Notes about Shipping Charges and the eBay "Detailed Seller Rating" Star System: The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee. We have NEVER requested Feedback from our customers as we were taught that "fishing for compliments" was impolite but the new eBay Detailed Rating System has put us in a rather tight spot. Most buyers are unaware that eBay bases a monthly fee discount on a Seller's "Star" rating. A monthly average of "4.6 Stars" (in any one of the four "Star" categories) costs us approximately $400 in additional eBay Fees - that's $400 above what we would pay if we had a "4.8 Star" average in all 4 "Star" categories!! As a consequence we hope you do not find us rude to ask that if you are happy with our items, our service, and our packing & shipping please be sure to use the "Star" rating system and remember that a "5 Star" rating is the only way we can qualify for eBay's fee reduction program. ,Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. Bottle Auction: ANTIQUE FLASK GIRL ON BIKE REVERSE EAGLE H&DHC BLUE

ANTIQUE FLASK GIRL ON BIKE REVERSE EAGLE H&DHC BLUE Bottle Auction Description: I know very little about flasks so please ask any question that needs answered. I will be giving my opinion on this flask which for the most part is not worth very much concerning this item.I believe this flask is blue. It is a tad over 7 and 3/4 inches tall. It is about 5 inches wide. On one side there is an eagle holding a banner. Under the Eagle there is an oblong circle that has A&DHC inside. On the other side there is a lady riding a bike with a bunn in her hair and flowing ribbons from her dress. The flask has a flake or small chip on the rim edge. It could probably use a cleaning. I think it is pretty awesome looking.Thank youOn May-19-11 at 08:38:30 PDT, seller added the following information:I washed the flask with dish soap and water and it is actually pretty clear. There is a tiny brown spot that may wash off with something a little stronger. Thank you

It is McKearin's GXII-?. Not exactly sure but know it's listed scarce when you find right number. With the exception of a chip on the lip as seen in pics 8 & 9. it is in pristine condition. Never dug or tumbled. ZERO WEAR, NO HAZE, NO SCRATCHES...ATTIC FOUND. It's only flaw is the lip chip. Displays wonderfully. The PICS really don't quite do it justice. The WORD 'UNION" is unique for Union flasks in that they are very fancy and not like any others. Hard flask to get. Has a nice HINGE MOLD BASE. Could be Civil War Ear, 1860'S for sure. Bottle Auction: About mint unembossed barrel bitters.Awesome bottle

About mint unembossed barrel bitters.Awesome bottle Bottle Auction Description: This weeks bottles are fresh from the Mansfield,OH. bottle show this weekend. Enjoy, here's some good ones! Unembossed bitters barrel, American, ca. 1860-1870. Stands 9 3/8"high with an applied drippy top and a smooth base. The pictures show the true color orange amber. Has a nice lean to its stance also. This bottle is absolutely perfect but I did find an in-making flake under the drip of the applied top, which tells me it was in manufacturing. Almost missed it and didn't even see it when I bought it. This barrel sparkles and all rings are perfect! Has an awesome glasshouse repair as seen near the base. There was a cool story on these type repairs in an article in AB&GC magazine years ago and were actually considered very rare to have or find a bottle with one of these. A hot tool shaped like this was pushed into the glass if the blower saw a hole or thin area when the bottle was taken out of the mold. I welcome any comments or knowledge on this as the story was more than ten years ago and I don't remember it word for word. I've seen a couple others in twenty years, but they were small about an inch long. This baby is nearing 2 inches long. If you collect barrels or unembossed barrels, here is one you will want for sure!! Grades a 9.9 without the flake. Clean, un-tumbled condition. Great bottle!! No reserve, bid with confidence. These are not my specialty what-so-ever, so ask questions or ask for more pics. These auctions are paypal only. Shipping to the U.S. only, and paymentto be made within 3 days of auction ending. Email me with any questions.100% full refund if not completely satisfied with any of my bottles. Thanks for looking. I always combine shipping and never charge for packing materials and other excuses. On May-09-11 at 15:31:28 PDT, seller added the following information:Here is a story I found about this mark on the bottle. Very cool article, and you can judge for yourself. Either way, this bottle is extremely sweet!http://www.bottlemysteries.com/

Bottle Auction: 1870s "CUTTER OLD BOURBON SOLE AGENTS" Yellow !

1870s "CUTTER OLD BOURBON SOLE AGENTS" Yellow ! Bottle Auction Description: WESTERN BOTTLE AUCTION1870s "CUTTER OLD BOURBON SOLE AGENTS" Yellow ! Here's one fine old Western Cutter Whiskey 5th in a nice light color. This one has been a favorite in the consigners collection for several years. Embossing reads; "J. H. CUTTER / OLD / BOURBON / A. P. HOTALING & CO. / SOLE AGENTS" in a round circle emulating a barrel head. In the center of the embossing there's a fancy crown. The reverse is embossed "A no 1" on the shoulder. It was hand blown into a four part mold in a nice honey amber colored glass, circa late 1870s. There's no doubt this was blown in San Francisco by the Pacific Glass Works. Even has the trade marked curved leg "R"s. This is a clean non polished 5th in a very nice light transparent color. It has an applied top and deep concave base typical of the older Western whiskies. For complete condition accuracy I note what's either a wear mark or scratch on the base but NO chips, cracks, scratches, stain or repairs. This is a great example for this bottle being a lighter than normally seen color. NO RESERVE ! Buyer pays $9.85 for Priority Mail shipping, Packaging, Delivery confirmation & Tracking in the U.S. Insurance optional, buyer assumes all shipping liability for uninsured items. Payment to be made within 7 days of the auction closeing please. However if you need longer, extended payment time may be arranged prior to the auction ending. Bottle Auction: Masonic/Eagle Historical Flask MINT Condition

Masonic/Eagle Historical Flask MINT Condition Bottle Auction Description: Up for consideration is a beautiful early example of a pontiled half pint historical Masonic/Eagle flask. The flask is from around the early1820's. It is olive amber yellow in color. The bottle is in MINT condition. There is a tiny bit of normal high point ware on both sides as well as normal ware on the base of the flask. All of which is to be expected from any bottle that is almost 200 years old. I don't know the exact glass house this bottle came out of but I do know it is one of the earliest examples in this color. I have never cleaned this bottle there is what appears to be dried blood at the base on the inside of the bottle which by the way would easily rinse out. The blood stain is visible only when you shine a light into the bottle. The bottle has many subliminal messages. Such as a crescent moon, a skull and crossbones, stars, a sun with beams of light emitting from it and some other images I can't even explain. Every time I examine the bottle it seems as though I find something new on it or in it. It also has the all seeing eye and of course the masonic symbol both of which should be easily seen in the pictures. It is truly a piece of American history and a beautiful one at that. Back in around the early 1800's there was a huge uproar and fervor regarding the Masonic Symbol being produced on glass bottles. The Masons fought tooth and nail to get their symbol off the bottles they were making back then. However there were too many glass houses and it was an obvious losing battle. I hope you will enjoy this bottle as much as I have.I have also set a low reserveI ship anywhere U.S,A. and will ship internationally if need be. The bottle will also be insured.
