Bottle Auction: Gorgeous Sapphire Blue Louisville Double Eagle Historical Flask

Gorgeous Sapphire Blue Louisville Double Eagle Historical Flask Bottle Auction Description: We are very excited to offer this beautiful historical flask for sale. It was likely blown at the Kentucky Glass Works in Louisville, Kentucky around 1850. The color is a bright medium to light sapphire blue, not quite as deep as the first two photos but closer to the third picture of the top of the flask. It has a perfectly sheared mouth and open pontil scar. It is known as GII-24 in the McKearin flask numbering system. The impression in this flask is one of the best I've ever seen. The clarity of the glass is awesome, and there are nice swirled bubbles in the neck. However, there is a 1/2 inch "in making" cooling type fissure along one of the corrugated sides. It was definitely done in the manufacturing process, and partially passes through a large bubble and the mold seam (see close-up photos). It is important to note that an undamaged example just sold in Norm Heckler's auction for over $22,300 with buyer's premium included. Here is a great opportunity to buy a similar flask that displays perfectly from either side, due to the fact that the fissure is along the side mold. And our reserve is more than of an 85% discount compared to the one sold at recent auction! This flask is a really nice example of Americana with its strongly embossed eagle with a banner in its beak, and the group of 14 stars above. Please email me with any questions, or for any additional photos. Posted with eBay Mobile

Bottle Auction: OUTSTANDING expl. NATIONAL(Ear of Corn)BITTERS w/beautiful shading.1 of the BEST

OUTSTANDING expl. NATIONAL(Ear of Corn)BITTERS w/beautiful shading.1 of the BEST Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. I can't even begin to say enough good things about this bottle. This is a NATIONAL BITTERS/figural EAR OF CORN and the condition really can't get much better.I hate to have to part with this bottle, but one must do what one has to do. Here's your chance to getone of the BEST examples you'll ever come across. Not a THING wrong with it. I really don't like to use the word mint too often to describe old glass, but in this case I would. There is however, some wear on the base that one would expect to find on a bottle of this age. There are some impurities embedded in the glass and a fairly large, yet very stable pot stone about a half inch above the N in NATIONAL. There are no legs/radiations and the reason for this is that the pot stone is just sort ofstuck to the inside and not embedded deeper within the glass. Still, I would strongly advise against any drastic fluctuations of the temperature just to be safe. This bottle has GREAT shading, going from an orange amber lip, to a light golden butterscotch and back down to orange amber again with red tones near the base. Also very nice whittling in the oval where the label would have been. 12 1/2 inches in height and 2 7/8 across the base. Simply put, this is a KICK A__ example and deserves a spot on the top shelf. GOOD LUCK!! Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time, but a quick payment is always welcome andgreatly appreciated. Once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your package on its way to you just assoon as I'm able. Please remember to ask all questions before bidding or using "buy it now". This beautiful piece of early glass is an antique PRE-1900 bitters bottle, but I also listed it in the 1900 to NOW section so that I would be able to get it into the figurals category as well. If you have time, go ahead and take a look at my other items and keep checking back for more bottles to come in the near future. THANKS and have a great day! ( :
