Bottle Auction: Iron Pontil DR. ROGERS LIVERWORT, TAR & CANCHALAGUA, NY

Iron Pontil DR. ROGERS LIVERWORT, TAR & CANCHALAGUA, NY Bottle Auction Description: We hope you'll like this brilliant example of this very early, folky medicine. It is 7 1/2" tall, with an applied top and rectangular iron pontil. The bottle sparkles, with no stain or wear of any kind. There is a large stone in the neck that has a radiation of about 1/4" going both up and down from the stone, following the wrinkles and stretch marks in the glass. I missed it when I bought it in a bit of a rush, but it really doesn't detract visually from an otherwise exceptional example with bold embossing: A. L. SCOVILL & CO. - NEW YORK - DR. A. ROGERS / LIVERWORT, TAR & / CANCHALAGUA.

Bottle Auction: Lot of 4 Whiskey Bottles w/ labels, Lynchburg Va

Lot of 4 Whiskey Bottles w/ labels, Lynchburg Va Bottle Auction Description: This is a lot of 4 very old Pre- Prohibition whiskey bottles w/ labels in varying condition. 1) Farmer's Pride Corn Whiskey - This is the most colorful of the bottles with a great label of a very large hog being fed a bushel of corn. Distributed by Henry Rosenberger 1122 Main Street Lynchburg, Va. The label also states " ACCORDING THE NATIONAL PURE FOOD LAW JUNE 30, 1906." 14 Fl Oz is embossed into the back of the bottle. Slightly over 8 " tall. The glass itself has a few small pits and bubbles and is intact and in good condition. The label is not firmly affixed on the left side, but is in remarkably good shape considering the age of the bottle.2) OLD Corn Whiskey - I think they stayed up all night thinking up a name for this one. In my opinion, this may be the oldest bottle of the lot. Very plain, very basic label. Corn. Whiskey. Bottled by J. A. Gregory 1017 Main Street, Lynchburg, Va. Another 14 oz. ( embossed) bottle, this one is in poorer condition than the former. There is a small chip missing from the lip of the bottle. Numerous bubbles and imperfections in the glass. Very plain label with paper missing in a few small spots and discoloration at upper left of label.3) Sherwood Whiskey - " A Blend of Whiskies" . A very interesting bottle. 2 different names on label. I assume one was the bottler and the other the distributor. ?? Thos. G Carroll & Son Co., Baltimore, Md and H.E. Gregory 707 Main Street Lynchburg, Va. A former owners name is written on the upper part of the label and there is a metal ring affixed to the cork to make uncorking and recorking easier, The bottle is intact and shows quite a few signs of age, but is in very nice condition. 4) Sherwood Whiskey Blend - A smaller version, probaly half pint, of the above bottle. The label has a miniature version of the same label, w/ mention of the Pure Food and Drugs Act, but is not dated. The only name on the label is S.G. Atkins Co. Richmond, Va. This bottle also has an old cork (missing the ring) and also has a fairly nice chunk missing from the lip of the bottle. Not immediately noticeableThe letters A C W 139 id embossed on the bottom of the bottle. A very nice, very collectible lot of Pre - Prohibition Whiskey Bottles. Shipping will be $8, USPS, continental US. Other locations and shipping methods, insurance, etc available at cost. I prefer Paypal but will accept personal checks. Immediate shipping w/ Paypal.

Bottle Auction: Carters Ink Cobalt Blue Cathedral Embossed Glass Bottle

Carters Ink Cobalt Blue Cathedral Embossed Glass Bottle Bottle Auction Description: Up for your consideration is what I believe to be a harder to find, 1 Quart in size, Cobalt Blue Carter's RYTO Permanent Blue-Black Ink Cathedral Window Design Type Embossed Pattern Glass Bottle with a cork and wood made stopper. The bottle year is not marked so the age is not known. The labels are intact and readable. The main label has been discolored on the lower left side and the bottle needs to be cleaned around the label with out damaging the label. There are some kind of small dot impression holes that look like a factory mark of an upside down #71 or the mark T 2. You have to use a magnifier and let light through to really try to make out what the impression is. The bottle has dried ink powder and ink spots inside. The wood top is missing the screw on lid to keep the ink from running out, however the woodstopper is not broken and the threads appear in good order. The cork is dried out and has some cracking and missing pieces. The bottle is 11" Tall x 3 1/2" wide. The 2 botttle seams on each side, run from the bottom sides to the top rim. There are 6 Cathdedral Window Design Type Embossed impressions on every side of the bottle. The word Carter is embossed by 2 letters per section repeated twice around the bottom of the 6 sided bottle. The word Carter's is embossed on the bottom and the numbers 101-3 which are hard to see but can be seen at certain angles in the light.Thank you for looking and good luck in bidding. Bottle Auction: "STARKE BOTTLING" FL Hutchinson Soda Bottle w/ Label

"STARKE BOTTLING" FL Hutchinson Soda Bottle w/ Label Bottle Auction Description: "STARKE BOTTLING" FL Hutchinson Soda Bottle w/ Label Click Photos to Enlarge Click to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to Enlarge Description "STARKE BOTTLING WORKS" Deep Rock Ginger Ale Hutchinson Soda Bottle Up for auction is an clear/light green Hutchinson thick glass soda bottle with blob top. Embossed in a round center slug plate is "STARKE BOTTLING WORKS STARKE, FLA. REGISTERED" It measures approximately 7 inches tall, and is 2.5 inches diameter at the base. It has visible mold seams, and the base is unmarked. The original closure is still in tact inside the bottle. Surprisingly, the original paper label is still adhered to this bottle. The label features a young woman reaching toward a waterfall, and it reads, "Deep Rock Ginger Ale, Artificially Colored, Bottled Under the Authority of Deep Rock Ginger Ale Co., Athens, GA." The label of the back reads, "Deep Rock Ginger Ale, Non-Alcoholic, Aids Digestion." This bottle is in pretty good condition, it has shiny glass, and minimal scuffing and scratching. The lip of the bottle does not have any nicks, flakes or chips. The paper label is tattered around the edges in some places, and there is a little bit of rust floating around the bottom of the bottle from the rusting closure (I did not wash this bottle for fear of damaging the label." Other than the issues described, this bottle has no cracks, chips, scratches or repairs. I am listing antique glass and stoneware on behalf of the original collector's family. I do my best to describe and photograph these items accurately, however, I am not an expert. Please email me with your questions and I am more than happy to get back to you with more information. Thanks for looking! Payment and Shipping PAYMENT TERMS: Please note, I currently only accept payments via Paypal. Payment is expected within 5 days of the auction ending. All items are shipped within 3 days of payment. Thank you! SHIPPING TERMS: All items are carefully packed to ensure successful delivery to you. I do charge a $2.00 shipping and handling fee. Very early cone ink, concave bottom unmarked, the color is more towards the Yellow than the green, the picture makes it look a little more green than it really is, the bottle could use a light tumbling, there is some hazing, but doesn't really show up in the photo. The last picture was taken in the house with no flash, just trying to get the exact color. The lip is very crude as shown, no cracks or chips, fantastic color not often seen.
