Bottle Auction: 1850S Cobalt Blue Iron Pontil Soda Richmond Va M Mcormack

1850S Cobalt Blue Iron Pontil Soda Richmond Va M Mcormack Bottle Auction Description: Up for auction is an iron pontil cobalt blue soda bottle from Richmond, Virginia. I dug this bottle approx 15 years ago in a brick lined privy at Broad and 13th Streets. I remember this bottle well due to a unique mold flaw that makes it stand apart from others. This bottle has an open bubble to the outside on the A in McCormack that caused a lighter color on this bottle in that area. Only one like it I have ever seen. Bottle is in very near mint condition. Little to no wear. One very small pin tip size flea bite on the lip that is magnified in the pictures. What might look like wear in the pictures is light reflection off of the many bubbles in this bottle. Bottle has been lightly tumbled. Very little iron pontil residue on base. Bottle stands right at 7 inches tall. Please email me with any questions you may have and check out the other bottles I have currently up for auction.

Bottle Auction: Super Rare Golden Amber A.G.S. A G Smalley & Co. 1898 Quart Milk Bottle

Super Rare Golden Amber A.G.S. A G Smalley & Co. 1898 Quart Milk Bottle Bottle Auction Description: Ok, Here's one especially for you Milk Bottle Guys and Gals. Offered Here For Your Consideration is one SUPER RARE milk bottle. Base marked "A.G.S. 4 Patented April 5, 1898" This Quart Bottle with blank slug plate front, measures 8.75" tall, 3.75" in diameter at the base and 2.25" in diameter at they mouth. Scarce enough in clear but almost unheard of as a colored example in Medium Bright Yellow-Amber. I wish I could tell you this bottle is mint like the only other recorded example I can find which was offered by Norm Heckler Auction and brought a whopping $4,058! Unfortunately this bottle does have a few flaws. Missing its tin handle and metal bands to attach it at the middle and neck. Also Missing its tin cap and bail closure. One small lip chip and a second fleabite along with some in-manufacture spots of "froth" in the glass of the lip which is pictured (more character than a flaw) and a few scuffs and pings to the body as seen in the photos. The bottle also retains some light interior haze. This piece would benefit immensely from a tumble which would remove all of the haze and most if not all of the scuffs/pings. Not perfect, but rare enough to tumble and potentially reunite with some original tin hardware. This bottle is an Attic Fresh bottle. Never Dug! Don't miss your opportunity to own this SUPER RARE MILK BOTTLE. Instantly one-up a buddy... I bet that collector friend you compete with doesn't have this bottle!Objectified Designs is Proud to Announce Our Summer Bottle Bonanza! Please see my other Pontiled Medicine Bottles. Also, see my other Vintage and Antique Items---I will be happy to combine shipping. U.S. shipping is $8.49. I usually ship about once per week---give or take a day or two, but most of the time, sooner. I pack well and attempt to pack just like it was coming to me. Please read descriptions, see pictures and ask questions before bidding. I will describe this item to the best of my ability and knowledge. This auction is final as is. Now for the Good Part---This is an Original Authentic Antique Pontiled or Open Pontil Bitters Bottle with one of the Largest Open Pontil Marks that I have ever seen---Bigger than a Silver Dollar. I would date this bottle to the Mid 1800's or Well Before the Civil War. This bottle has been in a collection for many years. This bottle has some Great Characteristics for Early Glass. It has an Applied Flange or Thick Flared Lip and an Open Pontil Base. It stands Tall at about 6 3/4 inches tall and is Very Wide. It is 8 Sided or Octagonal with Whittle to Glass. It is Embossed with Large Heavy Lettering: S.O. RICHARDSON'S---BITTERS---SOUTH READING---MASS. The condition is Very Nice, in my opinion---just a Quality Example! It was lightly tumbled and has Super Shine to glass and is clean. No chips, No cracks and No repairs. Don't miss this one for your Early Bitters, Medicine or Cure Bottle Collection.
