Bottle Auction: RARE Large JACOBS PHARMACY Bottle - Atlanta - COCA COLA

RARE Large JACOBS PHARMACY Bottle - Atlanta - COCA COLA Bottle Auction Description: excellentstuff-auctionsNever a Reserve... PHOTOS BELOW. Embossed in slug plate: JACOBS' PHARMACY - ATLANTA. Bottom embossed: W.T. CO. - U.S.A. Measures 7½" tall, tooled lip. NATURAL amethyst tint to the glass (NOT irradiated) Bottle is in great condition. Only flaw I can find a tiny 1/8" stress crack near the lower heel of the reverse base. Most would not even notice it, but I mention it for accuracy sake. This large size Jacobs is considerably harder to find than the smaller versions. The nice sun colored amethyst tint makes this one a real prize. If you collect Georgia bottles or rare pharmacy bottles this is a must have. But the real appeal of the bottle is this... Jacobs Pharmacy is where COCA COLA was first dispensed. So, because these bottles are associated with the early beginnings of COCA COLA, they are highly sought after by knowledgeable collectors! U.S. SHIPPING & HANDLING is 9.99Will combine S & H for multiple wins.International bidders, please email for S & H rates. PONTILED WHEELING MINERAL WATER L SNIDER TAPERED TOP VA Bottle Auction Description: I hope you like this LAST of THREE WHEELING MINERAL WATERS. This one is the same as the first one that had a large lip chip. It is embossed: L. SNIDER WHEELING. The embossing is FAIRLY BOLD. It does have quite a bit of stain as you can see but there are no chips, cracks, nicks, dings and not a lot of wear on the outside, just a bit. It has some light rust spots. This should tumble out pretty good. It is kind of CRUDE in that the TAPERED TOP is a bit CROOKED if you hold it a certain way. A VERY EARLY WHEELING VIRGINIA bottle in the CITY that is now in WEST VIRGINIA. This is all I have from Wheeling. Good luck. So BID WITH CONFIDENCE because: YOUR SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED!! CHECK OUT MY FEEDBACK and you will see that THERE IS NO RISK WITH ME!! I WILL DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH THE TRANSACTION!!Fast delivery. Return privileges. FOR ACCURACY SAKE I WANT TO ADD THAT, AS I SAID, THERE IS NOT A LOT OF WEAR BUT MAYBE INSTEAD OF BEING JUST A BIT OF WEAR, IT WOULD BE MORE ACCURATE TO SAY THERE IS SOME WEAR IN PLACES, BUT STILL NOT BAD. THE EMBOSSING SEEMS TO HAVE NO WEAR AT ALL AND THAT IS GOOD. IF YOU GET IT TUMBLED IT SHOULD LOOK GREAT. AND IF YOY DON"T NEED IT TUMBLED, THE WEAR PROBABLY WON'T MATTER MUCH TO YOU ANYWAY. Bottle Auction: "NATIONAL BITTERS" EAR OF CORN

"NATIONAL BITTERS" EAR OF CORN Bottle Auction Description: This Ear of Corn Bitters is in almost perfect condition, for most collectors it is. Height is 12 1/2" at the base it is 3" wide. The color is medium to light amber, light passes easily thru bottle. The top is fairly large and adds to the appeal of this one. Also I believe that it has a neatly applied top. Bottle Auction: Antique glass Keene Stoddard NH blown bottle early RARE

Antique glass Keene Stoddard NH blown bottle early RARE Bottle Auction Description: Last Week as I was clearing out the residue of an attic of an estate I came across a small leather trunk stuck in the corner. When pulled out and opened I found probably the best collection of early American glass I have seen. All the jars and flasks, about 30 in all, made by the Stoddard and Keene Glass companies here in NH. These flasks were wrapped in newspaper with the date 1943 and carefully tucked away for these past 67 years! This is a 4 3/4 inch , green, blown bottle. In very good condition with no cracks or chips as can be seen in photographs, it will ship for $8.88 I will be listing them all this week so if you are interested in bottles, flasks, jars etc from the early glass companies of the US you may want to check back often this week. Keene Glass Factories There were a few glasshouses in Keene during the first half of the 19th century. One was formed in 1814 and blew primarily window glass. This was known as the "Keene Window Glass Factory", and the company flourished until the 1850s, however, there were very few bottles, flasks or utilities blown there. The concentration of the collectible flint glass tableware, bottles, and flasks was produced at the Keene-Marlboro Street factory. Henry Schoolcraft (later known for his exploration of the Ozarks and documentation of Native Americans) established this factory in 1815 with the help of associates, Daniel Watson and Timothy Twitchell. They produced primarily patterned flint glass tableware (decanters, tumblers, pans, etc) to compete with the imported cut glass. These geometric patterns were quite beautiful and intricate in design. Colors of the flint glass range from colorless to deep blues and greens. The factory also produced many early flasks which include designs of eagles, sunburst and Masonic emblems. After running into financial difficulties, the factory was taken over by Justus Perry in 1819. Efforts were concentrated on flasks, bottles, inkwells and utilitarian wares made from bottle glass in deeper, darker colors. Although this "bottle" glass was less refined than that of the earlier flint glass, it proved to be more cost-effective. Perry took on a partner, John Wood, in 1822, who later sold his shares in the company to Sumner Wheeler in 1828. The Keene sunburst flasks were produced at this time. These flasks were embossed within the center of the rays, "Keen" and "P&W", and are available in a pint and 1/2 pint size. Perry and Wheeler continued to produce bottles, flasks, inks and commercial wares until around 1841. As the business began to dissolve, one of the master glassblowers, Joseph Foster, also known as "Old Bottle Foster", purchased many of the Marlboro Street Glass Factory assets and moved to Stoddard, NH where he began a glass business in this small town which lasted over 31 years. Stoddard Glass FactoriesThe Foster Factories The small town of Stoddard, located in the hills of Southwestern NH, was the home to numerous glasshouses through the mid 19th century. Joseph Foster, a top glassblower at the Keene-Marlboro Street glassworks, had purchased many of the assets and begun his own operations in Stoddard. His first furnace was located in South Stoddard, and blew many bottles and flasks, some that had originated from the Keene factory molds, such as the Cornucopia/ Urn flasks and the Eagle/ Cornucopia flasks, Railroad flasks, as well as blacking bottles, whiskeys, inkwells, medicine/ utility bottles and many demijohns and jars. Although wood and sand were quite plentiful in Stoddard, adequate transportation of the bottles was difficult given the isolated proximity of the town to any railways. Closest shipping points were over 20 miles away. His first furnace burned, and was rebuilt at a different location, and the financial woes continued. Over the next eight years, Foster struggled to make ends meet, and eventually sold off his property and any operations. This would be the end of Joseph Foster's glass factory in NH, however, his children would play a role in the industry in later years.

Bottle Auction: KILLER CRUDE Colored Pontiled Case Gin NEW ENGLAND? W@W

KILLER CRUDE Colored Pontiled Case Gin NEW ENGLAND? W@W Bottle Auction Description: Early dip molded case gin, crudely rendered. 9.5" tall with a base diameter of 2.75". The lip is a "pigs-snout" type with appied drips and stretch lines in the squatty neck. The Shoulders are overblown and "out-of-round". The taper is not as significant as the normal European examples. The sides all have some type of crude indentation with one being pronounced and almost 4" long. Th ecolor is a glorious shade of yellow olive green glass sprinkled in fine seed bubbles. But the feature that takes this early bottle over the top is the base treatment. It was obviously blown in and started in a dip mold, but it has (4) pronounced, debossed dots or circular rivets. I have seen these types of markings on some New England utilities and this could very well be an American gin bottle. For the record, the state of Connecticut had dozens of gin distilleries along "the river" back in the period. This fine case gin is intriguing and is definately circa 1780-1820. American or European. If its American, it's New England. Period. I have admired case gins and collected them for over 20 years and I have never seen anything quite like this one. Mint condition with no issues! If anyone has any further info, please pass it on. In the meantime, please check out my other auctions for more great case gins and some Connecticut glass from Pitkin, Coventry and Willington. Thanks and stay cool~

Bottle Auction: GVIII-29 SUNBURST FLASK MEDIUM GREENISH AQUA

GVIII-29 SUNBURST FLASK MEDIUM GREENISH AQUA Bottle Auction Description: Here we have a GVIII-29 Sunburst flask. My guess as to origin of this flask would be Keene as the lip and color are similar to the early Masonic flasks from there. The color of this flask is a little more green than my pictures show. The lip of this flask has a small bruise and associated tiny chip which I hope can be seen in the photos. It is between 5 and 6 o'clock in the photo. The bruise covers about 1/2 an inch on the interior of the lip....sounds worse than it really is. Height is 7 inches. Just a hint of highpoint wear on the tip of the sunburst.

Bottle Auction: FOR PIKE'S PEAK CIVIL WAR ERA WHISKY FLASK PIKES BOTTLE

FOR PIKE'S PEAK CIVIL WAR ERA WHISKY FLASK PIKES BOTTLE Bottle Auction Description: madchickentown store DESCRIPTION: ESTATE FIND! This bottle was just found with a load of other pre-1900's liquor bottles! "FOR PIKE"S PEAK" embossed whisky flask circa 1850's-60's. Olive green glass shows a man with a bindlestiff walking on one side and on the reverse the man appears to be "smoking" a pipe while an animal (stag?) "bows" in the background. All the other Pike's flasks I have seen have an eagle over an oval (sometimes with the name "Ceredo" embossed on the reverse side). The glass has lots of bubbles and stretch marks on the neck. It was blown in a two piece mold and has an pontil scar on the base. The seam reaches to where the shoulder and neck meet. It has a crude applied banded finish or lip. The entire bottle has a charming folk quality in its crudeness.SIZE: Approx. 7 3/4" H by 3 3/4" W by 2" D. CONDITION: The bottle does not seem to have been dug, there are no mineral deposits or stains. There is one old chip on the lip band of the bottle. There is some wear such as scratches typical of a bottle this age. Please see the photos below. PAYMENT & SHIPPING ETC: ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD AS-IS.. PAYMENT DUE WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE RECEIPT OF INVOICE. NO REFUNDS GIVEN UNLESS ITEM IN AUCTION IS GROSSLY MISDESCRIBED. SAID ITEM MUST BE RETURNED IN THE CONDITION THAT IT WAS RECEIVED BEFORE ANY REFUND GIVEN. NO REFUNDS GIVEN FOR SHIPPING COSTS. WE WILL COMBINE SHIPPING FOR MULTIPLE ITEMS. LOCAL PICK UP IS AWAYS ACCEPTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS ITEM. RESIDENTS OF TEXAS MUST ADD 8.25% TAX TO THE FINAL AUCTION PRICE. PLACING A BID ON THIS ITEM VERIFYS THAT YOU HAVE READ ANDUNDERSTAND THE ENTIRE AUCTION AND AGREE TO THE TERMS LISTED ABOVE. On Jul-03-10 at 08:07:37 PDT, seller added the following information:PLEASE NOTE: An observant eBayer has sent me a message (posted below) which states that the man on the reverse side may be shooting a gun at the animal rather than smoking a pipe, which upon closer inspection looks to be the case. Please refer to the photos posted in the auction. Thank you.
