Bottle Auction: Greeley's Bourbon Whiskey Bitters Figural barrel (vertical)

Greeley's Bourbon Whiskey Bitters Figural barrel (vertical) Bottle Auction Description: Up for bids is a Vertical Greeley's Bourbon Whiskey Bitters. Its a really nice color. In my eyes it appears pinkish strawberry color. Color is very subjective so please refer to the photos. It is a lighter than normal in color and the color can be seen in normal light. This bottle has no chips or cracks and is clean. The lip of the bottle looks good and is without damage. It is not a dug bottle. There is a spot that during the making of the bottle appears the there was some glass stuck in the mold that can clearly be seen in the photo. This is not damage. It is in making and just adds character to the overall appeal of the bottle. Please ask questions before bidding. I will shipp the bottle via USPS Priority post as soon as the payment is clear. I will accept returns on this item within 3 days if not as described. Thanks for looking and please look at my other items. GOOD LUCK! P.S. this auction is for only the 1 bottle the other bottles are only to compare color.

Bottle Auction: Cobalt IRA HARVY Soda Full Iron Pontil

Cobalt IRA HARVY Soda Full Iron Pontil Bottle Auction Description: This auction is for a 1850's cobalt Ira Harvy soda from Rhode Island. Note this is the version with the "E" missing in the embossing. Ira Harvey was one of the largest R.I. soda manufacturers in his run from the 1850's well into late 1800's. I had about 8 of his early examples in my collection.Nice clean taper top without any damage. This bottle hasn't been tumbled, just washed and rinsed. There isn't any significant damage just minor light surface scratches and scuffing. If you were to give it a minor tumble it would be about mint. The embossing has little to no wear and is strong and well defined.Pontil retains all of its iron. Some nice light whittle throughout the bottle.PLEASE NOTE: DON'T ASK ME TO END ANY OF MY AUCTIONS EARLY BECAUSE I WON'T, I HATE IT WHEN A SELLER DOES IT ON A BOTTLE. THAT I WAS GOING TO BID ON.The embossing reads IRA HARVY/ PROVI. R.I //Backside "H"/ THIS BOTTLE/ IS NEVER SOLD//Payment is through Paypal only and due within 2 days after auction has finished. Otherwise bottle will be re listed and appropriate feedback given.U.S. sales only. Shipping to Hawai'i and Alaska may be more. One week return privilege. Returned bottle must be the same bottle and must be in the same condition when shipped in order to receive a refund. Buyer pays for return shipping.Insuring the bottle is at the buyer's option and is an extra charge. Seller won't be responsible for any lost or damage to the bottle. Will combine multiple auctions to save on shipping. Bottle Auction: Pint STODDARD Double Eagle Flask Light Amber GII - 82

Pint STODDARD Double Eagle Flask Light Amber GII - 82 Bottle Auction Description: Offered here is a pint flask, blown into a two piece mold, with a sheared, fire polished top, and a pontil scarred base. It stands about 7 3/8" tall, and is embossed on one side with the eagle with oval below. The other side has the eagle and "STODDARD - N.H." embossed within the oval. I see the color as light amber, and I detect a very slight olive greenish tint. The condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or bruises. No haze - hard Stoddard glass. There is some high point wear. One side has the wear on the banner, outer wings of eagle, and to a lesser degree - on the raised rim of the oval. The other (embossed) side has wear on the banner, outer wings, rim of oval, and there are light scratches above and to the left of the eagle, on the shoulder. There are striations on the upper shoulder and lower neck. The bottle stands upright very well, and has a big pontil scar on the base. Granite Glass Works, Stoddard, NH 1850's. I offer a money back guarantee, with postage paid both ways, on this bottle. Thanks.

Bottle Auction: KEENE NEW HAMPSHIRE SUNBURST HISTORICAL FLASK HALF PINT GVIII-9

KEENE NEW HAMPSHIRE SUNBURST HISTORICAL FLASK HALF PINT GVIII-9 Bottle Auction Description: Here we have a pontiled Sunburst flask produced in Keene, New Hampshire. I believe the chart number for this flask is GVIII-9.....more rounded shoulders than square. The top is sheared with a good amount of crudity present on the interior of the lip.... this looks like unmelted slag in the glass, another area has what looks to be iron residue from the lipping tool. The oval panels are lightly embossed Keen and P & W, which can be typical for these. In addition to the weak embossing these panels have a fair amount of highpoint wear, also wear on the ends of the rays.....this flask was well used. In the two pictures of the base, if you look at the bottom right corner a small ,an iridescent area appears. I looked at this area very closely with a loupe, it does not show itself on the exterior on any way and when strongly backlit there are no cracks or lines coming from this area, in fact the iridescent area disappears altogether. Seeing that the rest of the flask has such crude glass and this is in the thickest corner of the base, it most likely is not damage, just a case of early and crude manufacturing techniques. I'd call the color a medium to dark yellow olive. Despite the usage wear on this early flask it is still a solid and attractive example. Height is approx. 5-3/4 inches.

Bottle Auction: Doctor Fisch's Bitters, W H Ware Patented 1866 - Figural Fish - Very Pretty!

Doctor Fisch's Bitters, W H Ware Patented 1866 - Figural Fish - Very Pretty! Bottle Auction Description: For your consideration is this early applied top figural fish shaped bottle for Dr Fisch's Bitters, W H Ware Patented 1866. The bottle is 11 3/8" in height. It's a beautiful golden amber figural decanter bitters bottle. It has a hand tooled applied ring mouth, and smooth base. This bottle is in excellent condition, having no chips, cracks, scratches, stain, or wear. Please see pictures for full description. An awesome addition to any figural, bitters, or what ever trips your fancy collection. This auction is for the fish bottle only. Return accepted if not as described. Please see my other auctions as I do combine shipping where practical to save you money. Shipping price quoted covers delivery confirmation and insurance for your full purchase price.Bottle was listed two weeks ago, and buyer returned item. Re listing to offer it again. If you have questions on this or any of my other items, please e-mail me.Continental US bidders. Payment by PayPal preferred. Shipping includes delivery confirmation and insurance for your full purchase price.Thank you for viewing my auctions. On Aug-20-12 at 16:59:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had two people ask, so I thought it best to post my response as to why the bottle was returned. The previous buyer felt the depression in the lip, shown in pictures #5 & #10 was a polished out lip chip. I have examined the bottle closely, and truly believe it is the way it was formed, there simply wasn't glass enough to fill the lip finish tool in that area. You can see the applied lip extends further on the neck in that area, which to me further explains the lack of fill on the lip. I've looked at it with a luope, and truly do not see any signs of repair. It's simply a crudely applied lip. Those of you who sell on e-bay know there is no winner when an item is returned. People second guess the reasons, and it costs both the seller and original buyer in the long run. I truly aim to please my customers, and am honest to a fault about the condition of the items I sell, as evidenced by my feedback. Rest assured this is not a damaged or repaired bottle. Thank you.

Bottle Auction: Beautiful Western Bitters- Wormser Bros. S.F.

Beautiful Western Bitters- Wormser Bros. S.F. Bottle Auction Description: About 15 years ago, there were only about 12-15 known examples of this early western barrel bitters known. Then there was a grouping of them dug in Virginia City, Nev. and a small cache dug in Oregon. While a few have become available since, they are mostly in need of heavy cleaning, or have damage. There are very few in this condition! This golden amber barrel is embossed "Wormser Bros. San Francisco". What makes this example special is the fact it has never been cleaned except by soap and water, It also has a huge drip on the front of the top, and is in great condition. Other than a teeny germ bite under the base...and I mean TINY, it is problem free. There are still a few chunks of dirt inside, but no "belly wear" or embossing wear. No chips, flashes, or any other form of damage. This late 1860s western barrel consistently ranks in the top 20 western bitters, and is a great example. It is a shade darker than they typically come in too. Overall a fantastic piece of western glass with super bold embossing. I will cover postage in the continental US. I sure hate to let this one go! Good Luck!

Bottle Auction: Rare AMBER St. Louis Hutch Soda - Eclipse Carbonating Company

Rare AMBER St. Louis Hutch Soda - Eclipse Carbonating Company Bottle Auction Description: This a fairly rare, very dark amber St. Louis, Missouri hutch soda elaborately embossed "Eclipse Carbonating Company" within a horseshoe on the front of the bottle. The horseshoe encircles the monogram "E C Co" which stands for the Eclipse Carbonating Company. At the base of the horseshoe it is embossed "St. Louis". The reverse is embossed "2 1/2 Cents Deposit Required for Return of This Bottle" which is over some letters that were peened out of the mold. The shoulder is embossed "M E L A R M O -". Base is also embossed with the "E C Co" logo. Condition wise, the bottle is near mint with just some minor inside dirt that would clean up fine. No chips, damage, etc. only some minor wear. Difficult to see through because it is so dark. A really killer bottle.Whether you are from St. Louis, Missouri or just collect colored hutchison type sodas this is one that doesn't come up for sale very often and especially in this condition.I accept MO, personal check (must wait to clear bank), cash, or Paypal and can deliver in the St. Louis, Missouri or Illinois vicinity. As always, returns offered if not completely satisfied. Buyer pays shipping on all returns. Insurance will be added to the final price if the item is being mailed so wait for the invoice before paying. Happy bidding! On Aug-06-12 at 18:27:24 PDT, seller added the following information: This soda bottle is about 6.5" tall and about 2.5" diameter at the base.

Bottle Auction: rare SWIRLED PUCE! A.M. BININGER 375 BROADWAY- CRUDE & WHITTLED RICH COLOR

rare SWIRLED PUCE! A.M. BININGER 375 BROADWAY- CRUDE & WHITTLED RICH COLOR Bottle Auction Description: Outstanding color on this crude old Bininger's whiskey. Top half of the bottle show terrific puce color swirling through the shoulders, passing light nicely, shading to blood amber on the lower half. Color changes depending on the light and background. Advanced collectors who handle this type of glass know how it can look more amber on the table, then when held to the light, give a real "wow" color, which is the case with anyone I've shown this bottle to. It came out of a deep river here in Maine last year, so it's new to the market. Wonderful crude embossing reads "A.M. BININGER & Co / No 375 BROADWAY N.Y." , with tapered square collar lip, and early hinge mold smooth base. No chips, flakes or cracks. If you run your fingernail under the lip, you can feel a little pin prick, I cant see it without my glasses. I've never bothered to tumble it, it has very faint haze and some very light scratches, but I'd prefer it just as it is, as it is clean and bright. The whittling and swirling especially in the upper puce half are great !Bottles in this condition and color don't come along often. A great early Bininger. Shipping calculated by weight and zip code. Returns accepted if not accurately described. Thank you for your prior business. Will combine items to save on shipping.

Bottle Auction: STODDARD GLASSHOUSE TURTLE WHIMSEY PAPERWEIGHT OR DOORSTOP

STODDARD GLASSHOUSE TURTLE WHIMSEY PAPERWEIGHT OR DOORSTOP Bottle Auction Description: Here we have an amber turtle glasshouse whimsey paper weight or doorstop. This was recently acquired in southern New Hampshire, leading me to believe that it was produced in the area. The glass has very crude texture on the dome or shell of the turtle it also has the " dot " like some Stoddard products exhibit on the base. On the topside of the turtle there is years of grime in the nooks and crannys of this piece, the base is not as crudely textured. There are an abundance of potstones throughout the piece, one of which has a radiation around it, this is one the underside of the tail and can be seen in the pictures. The feet and tail show heavy and correct wear from years of being slid around. Length is approx. 5 inches. Height is approx. 2-1/2 inches. Even though I believe this piece is from Stoddard and shows some attributes of this, it's possible that it could be from Lyndeborough, N.H. or South Jersey.
