Bottle Auction: GREAT Stoddard NH glass lot! Flasks, medicine, and dug shards! Complete package!

GREAT Stoddard NH glass lot! Flasks, medicine, and dug shards! Complete package! Bottle Auction Description: Here is a wonderful mid-19th century glass lot, complete with 3 GREAT bottles and flasks, and the corresponding shard/ relics that were excavated from the Granite Glass Company in Mill Village, Stoddard New Hampshire. This factory was in operations from 1846 until the late 1850s. The pint sized flask is a GII-84 (according to McKearin's flask mold charts, see "American Bottle & Flasks, And Their Ancestry") EAGLE / EAGLE in a very nice OLIVE amber color. The olive tones are somewhat scarce in Stoddard glass, which was primarily amber. The impression is EXCELLENT, and there is very little to no wear. The glass luster is also quite nice, and condition is perfect! It would be difficult to find a better example. Two-piece mold, open pontil scarred base, sheared and refired mouth. A super example!! The 1/2 pint sized flask is a GII-88 EAGLE/ EAGLE in a rich amber color. Also, impression is very strong, and little to no high point wear. All of the details of the patriotic eagle are well-defined, and the glass has a wonderful "pebbly" texture to it. Nice clean glass luster. The tiniest 1/8" onion skin bubble, otherwise perfect as well. Two-piece mold, open pontil scarred base, sheared and refired mouth. Another outstanding example. The small thin flared lip medicine / utility bottle may have held ink, spices or medicine. Cylindrical form, and perfect flared lip! Old amber glass, but also nice luster/ clarity. Two-piece mold, open pontil scarred base. Perfect example! Each of these fine specimens is accompanied by an "excavated" glass shard from the factory site. All of these items have much more significance when they are put into context, and these "historical" shards are great go-with items. They tell the story... and create wonderful conversation. This is a great looking group of early primitive glass Americana! I fully guarantee authenticity. A very nice Stoddard NH glass lot, with excavated fragments!! Buyer pays shipping. 7 day return policy if not as described. Please check out our other listingsGOOD LUCK!

Bottle Auction: DR.L.E. KEELEY'S GOLD CURE FOR DRUNKENESS QUACK MEDICINE BOTTLE TOOLED TOP

DR.L.E. KEELEY'S GOLD CURE FOR DRUNKENESS QUACK MEDICINE BOTTLE TOOLED TOP Bottle Auction Description: Here we have a nice early quack medicine bottle. Boldly embossed DR. L.E. KEELEY'S DOUBLE CHLORIDE CURE FOR DRUNKENNESS A TESTED AND INFALLIBLE REMEDY DWIGHT ILLS. Clear glass with slight amethyst tint, tooled top 5 7/8" tall. Some of these have a pour spout, this one does not. The glass is overall very nice original shiny condition with a few minor haze spots and scratches. Many of these are stained badly but this is a nice clean example. There are three issues to mention that do not detract from the bottle. The lip has two teeny weeny pin head flea bites on the edge and a moon under it about 1/16" across. The base has an edge chip about 1/8" across with two very flat no harm moons (about 1/32" of an inch deep each ) on the thick part of the base. These moons measure about 3/8" and 1/4" respectively.A lot of words do describe some minor issues. This is still a great looking Keeley's that displays like a champ. Fourteen day return guaranteed for money back. Buyer pays postage.

Bottle Auction: Old Beech Wood Straight Kentucky Whiskey 1 Gallon Bottle w/Wood & Wire Handle

Old Beech Wood Straight Kentucky Whiskey 1 Gallon Bottle w/Wood & Wire Handle Bottle Auction Description: This is a very interesting piece. It is a 1 Gallon clear Bottle with a wire and wood carry handle. The bottle is molded with the text as follows: "Old Beech Wood Straight Kentucky Whiskey, 2 Gallons for $5.00, Vogt-Applegate co. Incorporated Louisville, KY". The bottom of the bottle has a circle with the number 17 in it. I have done quite a bit of research on this piece and was not able to find another one like it. I was able to find some information on Vogt-Applegate Co. they were a turn of the century Distillery (pre prohibition) They sold most of their product through mail order. The bottle is in great shape with no chips or cracks (could use a good cleaning) There are a couple larger air bubbles in the glass from the molding process but none of the bubbles break the outer surface of the glass, The large white spot at the top near the neck is a air bubble that has broken the inner surface of the glass but the outer surface is fine. I believe this to be quite a rare piece. If you have any information on this bottle please let me know. Payment through PayPal within 5 Days of the auction closing. Shipping to U.S. address only NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. Shipping will be based on the buyers location, I charge only actual shipping cost. Check my listings over the next several weeks I will be listing several more vintage kits and a large collection of Automotive items and vintage sporting goods. I have just purchased a estate of various vintage items. All items come with a full 14 day return privilege.

Bottle Auction: Rare Columbia/Eagle Historical Flask, GI-117, Pint, Open Pontil, Price Reduced!

Rare Columbia/Eagle Historical Flask, GI-117, Pint, Open Pontil, Price Reduced! Bottle Auction Description: Here is an important historical flask that you rarely see at any auction, much less on Ebay! It is known as McKearin GI-117, and has a bust of Lady Columbia wearing a liberty cap. There are thirteen stars (representing the colonies) surrounding her bust, and "Kensington" is embossed below. The reverse side of the flask has the bust of a large beautiful eagle with "UNION" embossed below. The flask has a perfectly sheared and tooled lip, an open pontil scar, and is aquamarine in color. The bottle is very ornate and has the best impression that I have seen on this flask. I have owned this example for ten years, and thought that a "funny" area near the base was just in-manufacturing crudeness when I purchased it. After looking closer and with a loop, I now am convinced that there was some flaking or roughness that was buffed out. We took a close-up in the last photo where the area can be seen just above and to the left of the pontil scar. In spite of this minor flaw, this Columbia/Eagle displays awesomely and is one of the most historic and desirable of all historical flasks. We previously ran this with a "make offer" option, and turned down an offer of $700. Due to my husband's spending spree at the National Bottle Show in Lexington, KY, we have reconsidered and have set the reserve at that offer price.

Bottle Auction: Udolpho Wolfe Schnapps Bottle

Udolpho Wolfe Schnapps Bottle Bottle Auction Description: I gutted my 1850 house last year and found *many* bottles in the walls. Many were broken, but many were also in great shape. I am saving a few, but selling most of them. This is the first. I plan on selling them one at a time, but if you are local and interested in looking at the whole lot, come on over! Many of the bottles had no labels when I found them, but some did. I carefully wiped them with a damp paper towel, then wrapped them in paper towels for storage until I had a chance to sell them. This bottle is an Udolpho Wolfes Schnapps. It is 8 1/4" tall and as you can see most of the label and some of the wrapper are present. The wrapper is in two pieces. The outside wrapper is blank paper, then there was what appears to be some marketing literature on the inside. I could not put the bottle back in the wrapper without potentially damaging the inner portion, so I removed it and wrapped it loosely on the outside. I have not cleaned this bottle, and the cork is still in it. Many of the bottles I found were green or brown, this one appears to be more red in color. There is no visible damage to this bottle. Please do not hesitate to send me a message!
