Bottle Auction: Outstanding Olive Green Phoenix Bitters Bottle Pontiled

Outstanding Olive Green Phoenix Bitters Bottle Pontiled Bottle Auction Description: Here we have an outstanding example of a Phoenix Bitters Bottle. This beauty stands 5 1/2 inches tall x 2 1/2 x 1 3/4. The bottle is embossed as follows: JNO MOFFAT on one panel, PRICE $ 1 on one side, PHOENIX BITTERS on another side, NEW YORK on other side. This bottle is rectangular, Olive Green with some slight Amber hue in the lower part of the bottle when held up to lighting. The bottle has an applied top which is the crudest top I have ever seen on this bottle. Rough pontiled mark on bottom which you could probably cut yourself with it. The embossing is bold and crisp with do damage to this bottle. No chips, cracks, dings, scratches, only some honest base wear which is very little. Lots of seed bubbles in the glass. I have taken lots of pictures with one of them outside lokking up towards the sun to show you the color of this bottle. A very hard bottle to get the true color of. If you are looking for a killer Phoenix bitters this one is for you. A top shelf example that has been in my collection for probably 15 years. A really beautiful bottle much better than pictures show. Bottle came out of an Ohio mans collection. Bottle will be wrapped up in plenty of bubble wrap with packing peanuts to ensure a safe delivery. Shipping will be in the United States only and will be $20.00 which will include INSURANCE, SIGNATURE REQUIRED for your and my protection. Need payment 5 days after auction ends. PayPal is my preferred type of payment. Good Luck and Happy Bidding. On Sep-25-11 at 04:35:20 PDT, seller added the following information:I believe this bottle dates between 1830's to 1840's.

Bottle Auction: WORLDS HAIR RESTORER.. GRAPE COLOR

WORLDS HAIR RESTORER.. GRAPE COLOR Bottle Auction Description: This beauty has a lot going for it, color, good size, and sparkling condition.. Embossed on the front arched sunken panel is WORLD'S HAIR / RESTORER, The right side recessed panel has Mrs. S.A. ALLEN'S, The left side recessed panel has, 355 BROOME ST. / NEW YORK.. This lovely hair bottle has some great color.. I would call it purple grape, but view the pictures, you may see it differently.. This bottle measures 7 1/4" high X 2 5/8" wide X 1 3/4" deep.. The condition is about perfect except for a very minor shallow flake off the bottom corner.. The thin flared lip is perfect as is the body of the bottle and displays mint.. There are no other chips or stain or cracks...

Bottle Auction: English Colonial Wine Onion Bottle

English Colonial Wine Onion Bottle Bottle Auction Description: American Colonial English Wine Onion bottle found in Colonial town site in VA. This was near the Yorktown area where Washington and Rochambeu's troops stayed while moving towards confronting Cornwallis. This item dates 1660-1680 according to Hume's History of Colonial Artifacts. It was found with other dateable items such as shoe buckles, clay pipes, buttons and assorted ceramics. Own a piece of history that is well over two hundred years old. This item was excavated on private property with permission from the landowner on the bank of the river in front of the colonial homesite. In that area many period items were located such as period shards, shoe buckles, pewter spoons , buttons and dated coins ranging from 1640 to 1740s. The bottle is about 5.5 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide. It is in excellent condition as it was found. There are no cracks or "birdeyes" on this bottle . There are a few bubbles in the glass itself such as the one on the bottom where the pontil mark is very profound along with an indentation on one side of the bottom. The string has one chip probably as an incident of the colonist opening the container to drink. The pictures show a complete rotation of the bottle by quarter turns so every surface is clearly visibile. They don't come any nicer and this one will clean up to a beautiful dark Green showpiece. This bottle is exactly as it came out with no cleaning, repair or nothing. It is a fresh find by radwanik. More details can be given to the winner of the bid.

Bottle Auction: Rare Western Glob Top Flask- Portland, Or.

Rare Western Glob Top Flask- Portland, Or. Bottle Auction Description: Here is a super example of a very hard to find early applied top flask from Oregon. This flask is a pint size with a very large applied top, and nice glass character. The color is a brilliant light yellow / peach. with orange tone. Very beautiful color. The embossing reads; "Fleckenstein & Mayer, ( monogram) Portland, Oregon". The embossing is very good for one of these rating a 6.5 on a scale of 1-10 in strength. The letters are very clear, as some examples of this flask are extremely washed out in embossing strength. The condition on this one is gem mint, and absolutely pristine. A gorgeous example! Free shipping. Good Luck!

Bottle Auction: Warner Coldwater Mich Hop Bitters 1880 sample size sml

Warner Coldwater Mich Hop Bitters 1880 sample size sml Bottle Auction Description: Not sure if this is a sample or just a smaller size bitters. I haven't seen any others that i can remember this inbetween size. eight inches tall in stead of the standard nine and two and one half inches across the base instead of the normal three. Those measurments don't sound much different BUT i pictured it next to a standard size bitters so you can see the difference. Would be a great size and form variation for any collection. Nearly attic mint. Just some inside dirt. Was found by a dump digger thirty years ago. He cleaned it good but couldn't get the corners inside. I will wash it with copper pellets if the winner would like. Heavily embossed on two panels. One side German Hop Bitters the other Dr. C.D. Warner Coldwater Mich. On the two embossed panel sides the word Warner is above in a church panel. On the two unembossed sides 1880 is embossed in the top panel. Nice lightish amber in pristine condition. tooled blob some nice whittle, a wonderful example. I pack them well no need to worry about damage. Payment days of auction close bottle ships day after payment. Thanks and good luck! StevenOn Sep-06-11 at 15:38:45 PDT, seller added the following information:Update 9/6/2011 After two requests to close the auction early and one serious request for a condition clarification after i called the bottle pristine i have an update. I washed the inside today and all of the dirt washed right out. So now it is a 10 of 10 and you don't have to worry about breaking it as you wash the dirt out. It is sparkly and an example you will never feel the need to upgrade. Dug in a dump yet ATTIC MINT. A one in a million. Steven

Rare Cobalt "TWEDDLE'S / CELEBRATED / SODA" The Best! Bottle Auction Description: Rare Cobalt "TWEDDLE'S / CELEBRATED / SODA" The Best! We've been offering some top notch bottles from an old time collection and this gorgeous example is definitely no exception. Strong embossing reads: "TWEDDLE'S / CELEBRATED / SODA OR MINERAL / WATERS" with "COURTLAND STREET / 38 / NEW YORK" on the reverse. It was hand blown into a two part mould in a very nice cobalt blue with a hint of green colored glass, circa 1850.
