Bottle Auction: Antique Old Green Glass Fire Extinguisher Grenade Bottle Fire Fighting Ball

Antique Old Green Glass Fire Extinguisher Grenade Bottle Fire Fighting Ball Bottle Auction Description: 4" Tall x 3 1/2" WideInteresting example of a late 19th, early 20th century fire grenade bottle in typical round formation with a series of outside linear designs. It was commonplace during the period to have an item such as this readily available in the case of a fire. The bottle would have originally been filled with various chemicals and flame retardants. The user would simply grab the bottle and throw it at the opposing flames. The glass intern would shatter releasing the chemicals therein. As you can see this example has a beautiful aqua marine color. It is of course empty, but was likely originally sealed with a cork. Be sure to take a moment to visit our other auctions for fine examples of early American antiques and country primitives! Thanks for visiting The Country Tin!

Bottle Auction: E.Y. CRONK, ROOT BEER, Cobalt Blue Blob Soda, Chicago (IL) Beautiful Cond. NR

E.Y. CRONK, ROOT BEER, Cobalt Blue Blob Soda, Chicago (IL) Beautiful Cond. NR Bottle Auction Description: Here for your consideration is a cobalt blue blob soda, 7 1/4" high, manufactured by the Bode Glass Works in the 1800's for the benefit of E.Y. Cronk, Chicago (IL.). Mr. Cronk used this terrific looking bottle to sell his root beer. While I did not see what the glass looked like before this bottle was professionally cleaned, it is in beautiful condition now. The piece has no chips, cracks or clouding and only a small amount of what I'll call "case wear" in one small spot (see picture #9). The embossing is strong and reads in full "Registered EYC (monogram) Trade Mark" on one side as well as "E.Y. Cronk, Root Beer, Chicago" on the other. In small print block letters is also the manufacturer's name "Bode" at the base of the bottle, below "Mark"- there are no other markings. A lot of the pictures I am providing are just to show how clean it is and any "white spots" you see are not damage but from a flash. Shipping will be by USPS Priority/Insured Mail with signature required upon delivery. The low starting price is not indicative of some undisclosed damage or defect-I thought I would let you, the collector, determine its value. If you have any questions-please email me and I will respond as quickly as possible. Thank you checking out my listing, have a great day and happy hunting!PS. Some weeks ago there was a "dug" Cronk's bottle up for auction that definitely needed to be cleaned...this was not that bottle.

Bottle Auction: Pristine 1840sPontil Medicine Bottle! "DR. HOOFLAND'S BALSAMIC CORDIAL/ PHILA."

Pristine 1840sPontil Medicine Bottle! "DR. HOOFLAND'S BALSAMIC CORDIAL/ PHILA." Bottle Auction Description:  Measuring about 6 1/4" High, by about 1 1/2" Wide, across the Base, this is a Very Scarce/ Rare 1840's-Era, Mold-Blown, Pontil-Marked Medicine Bottle, from Philadelphia, Pa. It is Rectangular, in Shape, and features "Indented" Panels, and "Chamfered" Corners. Front, and Rear Panels are Embossed: "DR. HOOFLAND'S BALSAMIC CORDIAL/ C.M. JACKSON PHILADELPHIA"  The Side Panels are Plain, with No Writing. Bottle has a Perfect, Applied, "Square-Collared" Lip-Finish, and there are droves of "Whittle-Marks" and Bubbles, through-out the bottle as are visible in the Pictures. Condition is about Perfect w/ NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, NO DINGS, NO OPEN-BUBBLES, NO POT-STONE RADIATIONS, NO STAINING, NO SCRATCHES, etc. and bottle appears to Not be a "Dug" Example. There are to be noted, a few, minor, shallow, In-Making, "Neck-Crazing" lines, (very typically found on pontil-bottles) which are visible, upon close inspection that  to me are non-detrimental/ detracting from the display or integrity of this Rare Bottle. This is a "Cousin", to the famous, and fairly common, "DR. HOOFLAND'S GERMAN BITTERS/ LIVER COMPLAINT, DYSPEPSIA, / C.M. JACKSON, PHILA. Pa" Bitters Bottle, which also appear with an Open-Pontil Mark. I have basically never seen a "Hoofland's Balsamic Cordial" but have handled and seen probably hundreds of the Bitters Bottle, over thirty five years of bottle collecting/ show attendance living in New England. Bottle is seldom offered for sale, and is a "Pristine" example! Good Luck!

Sour Mash as found...keep scrolling there are 18 pictures and more description beneath the photos below!Click on any photo to see it in its original size in a separate tab. on wiki:Sour mash is a process in the distilling industry that uses material from an older batch of mash to start fermentation in the batch currently being made, analogous to the making of sourdough bread. The term sour mash can also be used as the name of the type of mash used in that process, and a whiskey made using this process can be referred to as a sour mash whiskey. Sour mash does not refer to the flavor of the whiskey, as is sometimes thought. In the sour mash process, the mash - a mixture of grain, malt and water - is conditioned with some amount of spent mash (previously fermented mash that still contains live yeast). Spent mash is also known as spent beer, distillers' spent grain, stillage, and slop or feed mash, so named because it is used as animal feed. The acid introduced by using the sour mash controls the growth of bacteria that could taint the whiskey and creates a proper pH balance for the yeast to work. An established and active strain of live yeast is introduced into the mash that is to be fermented. By using an established and known fermented "sour", this fermentation process controls the introduction and growth of foreign bacteria and yeasts that could damage the whiskey, and improves the consistency and quality of the liquor, so that every bottle tastes as close to the same as possible. The sour mash process is used for the production of nearly all bourbon whiskey.Sour mashing is also a process sometimes used in brewing to make sour beers without the typical year or more timeframe. In the brewing version of sour mashing, brewers mash in their grains to begin the brewing process but instead of extracting the wort from the grains at the end of the mash (typically under ninety minutes), the brewer will leave the grains and wort together for as long as several days before draining the wort. During this time, the lactic acid bacteria naturally present on the grain will ferment some of the sugars in the wort into lactic acid. This lactic acid will add sourness to the beer. In order to promote fast bacterial fermentation, the mash is kept between 100-120F. The brewer will extract the wort by sparging when they believe enough acid has been produced. Some beers employing sour mashing will be fermented with the addition of brewing yeast but without a boil. Other brewers prefer to boil their sour mashed beer and then ferment it with brewing yeast. The resulting beers can range from mildly tart to noticeably sour, but usually are not as sour as beers intentionally soured after primary fermentation is complete. We put YQZ in each of our titles. We are Trading Assistants - We call sell items for you! Terms Of Service eBay is all we do for a living, husband and wife (Norb & Marie) working together, while we home school our kids on our farmette in Rural Delmarva. We have worked very hard to build our little business and it is very important to us. We try and do business the old fashioned way and have a rather simple outlook. Treat all of your customers as if they are family. Be courteous, answer e-mails, be fair in all your dealings and try and make friends of each and every customer. However, with eBay's new star rating and the rate increases in the U.S. Postal rates we needed to define and explain our methods of business. ONE - Who We Deal With We sell and ship world wide to anywhere, so please email us for a quote to wherever you happen to be. TWO - Shipping Charges We charge shipping based on the USPS system, we will sometimes ship via courier if we can get it to you within the same time frame or faster. We add a reasonable cost for materials and handling. Our materials cost is based on exactly what it has cost us to wrap similar sized items in the past. We realize that almost everything we sell is valuable to you and there is nothing worse than having something break in its final journey to your hands. We do our best to pack properly and use the correct materials to protect your win. If we are able to get the item to you for less than our quote we will refund the difference to you!For oversized items or items that will take special attention to package, (building a crate, wrapping many small items individually, etc.), we ask you to email us for a quote on shipping prior to the auction ending. If you do not, we charge the same amount as if you did. THREE - International Shipping We charge shipping based on the USPS international system. The rates follow the same guidelines as number two above, though for international customers we add an additional $1.00 to cover the extra paperwork involved in international shipping. If an amount goes over $50 in value we will only ship it with Priority or Express Mail, regardless how small an item. That allows for us to have international tracking. There is no tracking available on First Class Mail. FOUR - Insurance eBay's policies no longer allows us to charge the client for insurance. But... we still apply insurance to any item that goes over $27.00 in value. We reserve the right to use the insurance carrier of our choice. Sometimes that is Postal or the Carrier's Insurance and sometimes that is a private insurance company such as DSI or U-PIC/Shipsurance. If we use a private insurance company the package will not be marked insured, but it will be. FIVE - Methods of Payment Accepted We abide by eBay's rules and try and stay abreast of their changes. We accept Paypal. Paypal also accepts the major credit cards, or we also take Credit Cards Directly over the phone, (MC, VISA, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS, CARTE BLANCHE, DINERS CLUB, JCB) Bottom line, whatever method is most convenient for you. SIX - Time Frame To Pay We ask all auctions to be paid for in the fastest possible time frame. (This is all we do for a living and we need the money to pay the bills and buy more unique and fun items to put up on eBay) SEVEN - Shipping Time Frame We make every effort to ship in a timely manner. We are home schooling the boys, listing tons of items, and as like any of us are just plain swamped, so we have to schedule a special time to pack and ship. We ship on a first paid, first shipped basis. (We do not ship any item until it has been paid and the funds have cleared.) With the ebb and flow of payments we manage to get everything out of the door within one week. If there is a rush, we will make every effort to work with you in getting it out of the door faster. As you can see from our feedback, we do not disappoint. OF COURSE, items that need special attention, crating, etc adds to the time frame of those items. EIGHT - Local Pickup Sometimes it makes sense to come by and pickup your items. Sometimes an item is just too big for any other option. If you've arranged local pickup with us, you must pickup the item within 30 days otherwise it will be subject to storage fees or relisting. NINE - Communication Please feel free to contact us at anytime, with any question or comment. Unless we are out of town we make an effort to answer all emails as quickly as possible. Bottle Auction: Top Shelf Example Western Glob Top Whiskey

Top Shelf Example Western Glob Top Whiskey Bottle Auction Description: Here is one of the finest examples of this San Francisco whiskey that I have ever seen. It represents multiple upgrades for me and is definitely not your average "OK" Cutter. This 12" glob top fifth is elaborately embossed and is known as the "OK Cutter" as it has a large "OK" embossed on the front shoulder. What separates this one from the others is a super variated color...a light orange/peach amber top, and a light yellow neck...then orange/peach shoulders, and a light yellow middle, followed by peach/orange towards the base. Just an incredible color in backlighting. The embossing is super bold, and the glass is crude...not hammer whittled, but nice 1880s SF blown character. Also, the condition is pristine mint, and never cleaned. I apologize for my photo's as they do not show the brilliant color and quality. Those who know me know I am very picky, and continually upgrade my glass to get the finest available. This Cutter is the result of this mentality. A super western whiskey! Buyer to pay $9.85 postage in the continental US. Good Luck!Check out the last photo as it is the closest to showing the actual color variation. Sorry for the sideways photo's but this is the only way, the bottle can be shown larger.

Bottle Auction: LIGHTER than the norm. H.H. WARNER & Co TIPPECANOE Bitters/Tonic/Medicine bottle

LIGHTER than the norm. H.H. WARNER & Co TIPPECANOE Bitters/Tonic/Medicine bottle Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. Firstly, there is a LOT of yellow in this bottle. But in order toreally bring out just how much, I held the bottle between two display cases and one of the cases is infront of a window and there's just about a 4 inch strip that the case didn't fully cover. So I held thebottle in front of that space and took the picture. When viewed without any light from behind, I guessit just looks like your average Tippecanoe. But this is a far cry from your basic one. Get a run of these bottles in a window and include this one in it, I guarantee it to jump out in the strong yellow golden topaz shade that it's in. I don't like to call 100+ year old bottles mint too often, but I think I'm forced to do so in this case. I can say with nearly one hundred percent certainty that the winning bidder will be more than pleased to own this example. The other one you see next to it in a few of thepics is a very rare ERROR/MISSPELLED variant that is currently listed separately and is not includedin this auction. But if the same person should get the winning bid on both of the Warner Tippecanoe bottles, I will ship them to you for FREE. NO RESERVE and BEST of LUCK!! Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time, but a quick payment is always welcome andwould also be very much appreciated. Once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your package in themail and on its way to you ASAP. Questions regarding this item must be asked prior to placing a bid.If you have some time, check out my other items and keep watching for more bottles and other coolstuff to come in the near future. THANKS and have a great day! ( :On Sep-13-15 at 09:38:28 PDT, seller added the following information:You DID notice that I have another Tippecanoe bottle listed at this time; RIGHT?? It's the extremely scarce variant where the town of Rochester is in error and misspelled as ROCHETER without the S. It's also a very EARLY example lacking the patent date and it's in a very nice chestnut reddish amber. Just wanted to make sure you're aware of it. ( : Thanks!

Bottle Auction: A.M. BININGER & CO~No.19 BROAD ST~NEW YORK handled Whiskey/liquor jug

A.M. BININGER & CO~No.19 BROAD ST~NEW YORK handled Whiskey/liquor jug Bottle Auction Description: WELCOME and thanks for stopping by. Here is the second and the smaller of two A.M. BININGERbottles that I currently have listed. The Old Dominion Wheat Tonic shown in the first picture is listedseparately and is not part of this auction. This is only for the handled Whiskey jug which measures 8 inches in height and is in a vibrant burnt orange with very good yellowing. It actually reminds me of asunset. The condition is MINT AS MADE and shows lots of whittle, BUBBLES and nice crudity as well. I hardly see ANY wear on this jug and there's only a couple of extremely light scratches on this piece which are SO light, they're just barely visible with the naked eye. I only noticed them after using the zoom in feature on a few of the photos. But I'm calling it "mint as made" because there could possibly be a small cooling flash just under the lower part of the applied handle. I personally think that it's a stretch line on each side of the lower handle attachment that nearly forms a V as you should clearly be able to see in the close up. I looked at it under magnification, but I'm just still not sure so you're going to have to make the decision for yourself when you get it. If it is a flash, these kinds of things were a common occurrence on bottles with applied handles and is NOT adamage issue. BUT,....If you decide to send it back, then no problem at all. But the buyer is responsible for safe return shipping and the jug must be returned within 14 days of receipt and come back to me in the exact same condition it was in as when it left my possession. But I am fairly confident that once you get this bottle/jug in hand and look it over thoroughly, you will be MORE than pleased with your purchase and will definitely want to keep it. That's how SWEET this bottle is. As I mentioned earlier, also currently listed is a VERY scarce Bininger's Wheat Tonic. So as I sometimes do, I will offer a little incentive bonus,..... if the same person should happen to be the winning bidder on both Bininger bottles, I will ship them to you FREE of charge. NO RESERVE and BEST of LUCK!! Payment through paypal is expected within a week's time, but a quick payment is always welcome andwould also be very appreciated. Once payment clears, I'll do my best to get your package in the mailASAP. Questions concerning this item must be asked before placing a bid. If you have time, please check out my other items and remember to keep watching for more bottles and other cool stuff tocome in the near future. THANKS and have a great day! ( :

Bottle Auction: U.S.A. Hospital Department cobalt blue cylinder bottle 9 1/4" high.

U.S.A. Hospital Department cobalt blue cylinder bottle 9 1/4" high. Bottle Auction Description: I have a USA Hospital Department bottle that has been in my possession since we dug it in South Jersey back in the 1960s. Crude and cobalt blue with U.S.A. / HOSP.DEPT. embossed in an oval on the front of the bottle. Dimensions: 9 1/4in high x 3 3/8in wide x 2 1/4in deep. Crude slightly off kilter neck and tooled lip. Base is plain which makes the bottle interesting for sure, Damage: sizable chip in rear part of the lip (shown in pictures) and two surface scratches on front shoulder. A partially burst air bubble on side which DOES NOT go thru glass. Other then that it's a beautiful bottle that would certainly display well. I put four small felt tabs on the base to minimize the wobble from the crudely flattened base. I took this bottle to a bottle show in New Jersey and had someone from an unnamed auction house look at the bottle. He said if the bottle was undamaged it would certainly be worth around $2000 but with the damage I could expect to get about half from the right people. Since it wasn't an official appraisal he wished to stay anonymous.
